  1. Sabres blew them out last game. Want to compare how both did all year? I’ll bet you now we finish higher next year
  2. Lucky you. One place I’ve never been to but I know many who love it there. I have a friend there that is a Philly fan. All sports. So the Sabres look to end 9 games over 500 and 41 or 42 wins! Not bad, and good enough if in the West and should be in, as we beat Islanders and can tie them in points tonight. It’s crap how they did that. Head to head should mean more if you’re tied. The Sabres would be a more dreaded foe with a new goalie and the ability to score for even Boston. I think the Leafs are the only team that can beat them in East. I’m going Vegas and Eichel to win
  3. Has to have the last word. He sent me a thank you letter back a few years because I gave him an autographed memorabilia from 1951 Red Wings. He is into baseball ️
  4. Indeed. Going at it with him right now! Oh that’s right, your from Greece NY
  5. You guys are kind. I’m being heckled by former head D&C sportswriter! Picking on Sabres and Orioles! I had to remind him at lest O’s have 3 World Series titles. Current team is loaded w talent, but need to get injured pitchers back.
  6. Im sorry about your friend. We lost a good fan. The fact that this team is so young, with guys like Tuch and Skinner to help lead them, I do like their chances next year to get in. Dahlin and Power are two first round picks that are going to be great players. Dahlin already is. Power is more offensive minded right now. Samuelson is the best true defender they have and they keep showing the Sabres record with him in the lineup as opposed to when he was out injured. They are far better with him in. I am not sure if Luukenen is in the plans now that they have Levi? I would use him as the backup or share duties? The fact they played Levi in New Jersey after he played the night before tells you they are down on Luukenen. I think that was a mistake. But it matters not now. I say Anderson is gone. He is old and he knows it. Comrie had best be gone. So do they go get someone else to replace Luukenen or do they stick with him to back up Levi? Dahlin, Power and Samuelson are safe of course and are going no where. I must say that Jokuharju has played much better of late and I am now going to flip and say keep him. The rest are totally up in the air, and likey some gone. Bryson is one I would consider keeping. I like the kid. He is fast. Lyubushkin also I keep. So Clague not so sure. Stillman I really am not sure about either. He came over from Vancouver at the deadline. If they can get a good defenseman to play with the first ones mentioned I like the team. Offensively they are pretty solid but you can always use another good forward. Middlestadt really came on late. Cozens and Thompson, Skinner and Tuch are obviously going no where. Olofsson? I would consider trading him Seriously. Greenway I would try and replace. Not sure about Okposo and how much time he has left. Girgensons has been a solid player here and is the oldest guy. His penalty killing alone is a plus but he could be gone? Paterka and Quinn are two very good young players. They stay if it were up to me and I think they are coming back for sure. Krebs also. So what about Granato? I personally keep him. I think he did the best he could with what he had especially given the goalie situation. So Adams should not do anything with Granato. You may want to keep the Sabres as a closet team TFG. Tampa is not going to get rid of its older players that got them to the Cup. They will do what teams do, honor those that won, but at the same time it kind of hurts things moving forward. Point is still solid. But Stamkos has seen his better days. Im not sure how old Hedman is? The East is tougher than the West now. It been a long time.
  7. Its just crap that we beat them in the head to head and we are eliminated. We are a better team than the Islanders if you take away the goalies. Now we finally have a kid that can keep us in. But its too late. Stupid ass Adams
  8. You know the Flames have no chance I hope. So you best hang your hat on Boston. Even though the Leafs could have a say
  9. I think you are dead wrong on Winnipeg beating anyone. Vegas will roll them. And Florida has no shot, I agree with you there and totally disagree with the above poster picking them to play Vegas. What a joke. The Leafs are better than you think . I give the Leafs the beset chance of any other team beating Boston. Rangers and Devils are good but Devils are more dangerous of the two because they have a lock down defense and if they can get the lead they are tough to beat. But they are no offensive monster. If they do not get the lead they are in trouble. Its tough to pick against Boston with the season they had. But Ill take a shot with the Leafs. I am all in on Vegas to win the West. Colorado has bigger problems than even Tampa does. The Kings are the true sleepers in the West. So Vegas over either Kings or Dallas or Edmonton in the West and Boston or Toronto in the East. Toronto has had the Devils number for years. They have to find a way to win a one goal game vs Boston. Mathhews and Marner and Tavares is a beastly combo. Better than any 3 Boston can put out there. Pasternak and Marchand is their answer.
  10. I am cheering for the Leafs in the East and Seattle in the West. I believe that Vegas will win the West. The East? Its Boston's to lose. But the Leafs have a shot. I also must say that Edmonton is truly a sleeper in the West. Cant rule them out and they are playing their best right now
  11. What I do not understand is how the Sabres are finished when with 2 wins and a Montreal win vs Islanders, Buffalo would have tie with Islanders in points and beat them in the head to head!!!!! So how the hell do they win the tie breaker? And we would have more wins!!!! Its ******** I guess I agree with your take on the 3 points for a regulation. When teams are tied with less than 4-5 minutes left, it seems they both go into a shell to preserve the point. Especially if the game is between teams that are not in same division or conference. But I am for the old school. A tie is a tie. In fact, being here on a Philly forum, the Flyers have a record that will never fall as they had that 35 game unbeaten streak in the 70's or 80s, forget the exact year. I am pretty sure Parent was still there. They had a bunch of ties in there but that is the way the rules were. I think at least 6-7 ties. The only game ever played in Rochester that counted in the NHL regular season standings, I was there. Brodeur vs Hasek. Sabres and Devils. They jammed 11,000 inside an AHL arena. A place where I watched countless concerts, including Allman Bros, Elton John, Aerosmith, and the list goes on. So back on topic, I am for the tie, BUT, I REALIZEZ THE SHOOTOUT IS POPULAR WITH THE CASUAL FAN AND WILL NEVER BE TAKEN AWAY. Of course in playoffs no tie and no shootout. Did you guys happen to see the penalty shot the Sabres were awarded the other night? Tuch took the shot and missed. I am not sure I agreed with the decision to play the kid, Levi on back to back nights and in N Jersey. It did not work. I believe a motivated Luukenen would have given us a better shot than the kid, who I like very much, but he must have been tired after the win vs Rangers in a shootout. Its not really fair the Sabres are eliminated when the stinking Islanders would have same points and we won the head to head!! How the hell do they say we are eliminated with that crap? Not to mention we would have one more win. I understand we must beat Ottawa and Columbus and they must lose to Montreal. But its possible is it not? Whey would they get the tie breaker when we won the head to head with more wins? Mind boggling
  12. I will be hoping that Montreal can pull off a win at the Isles. But if somehow the Sabres can win out, they would beat out the Islanders regardless of how Pittsburgh and Florida fare. Florida plays Carolina. Hoping for a Canes win. I am not sure how the tie breakers work? If we lose in N Jersey and then win vs Ottawa and Columbus, we would still beat the Islanders out as far as I know? But winning all 3 with a Carolina win in Florida would put the Sabres in I believe?
  13. Its possible but the biggest hurdle is tonight. Beating Lindy's damn Devils with Luukenen. Take your foot off the gas Lindy, for old times sake.
  14. I am going to call it right now. Vegas over Dallas or Kings or Edmonton in the West.
  15. The Leafs are no joke. They have a shot. They have guys like Matthews and Marner and Tavares that can make Boston's life miserable. If anyone is going to upset Boston in the East, look no farther. A Leafs vs Vegas final is possible.
  16. I realize its likely not going to happen. But I do like the Leafs to down Florida tonight. The Leafs are starting to play their game. They are dangerous. If they win the Sabres must pull the upset at the Garden and then they would be right there with the games in hand. But those teams they play are tough. Starting tonight. They probably cant afford a regulation loss. Must get a point at least if not two. How motivated the Rangers are is questionable?
  17. Washington, like the Sharks, have quit on their coach's. Infuriating. Somehow they played two periods yesterday. The other poster though is right not to make it due to Boston and N Jersey, but the Sabres wont quit. But I do not think they get any help. Isles finally playing and Florida was hot. Both will be one and done.
  18. Only 4 points out. Can’t likely ask Flyers or Wash for help tonight. Tankin and Stankin! Sabres will make playoffs next season but still alive. Record is not bad
  19. No nor at all. I have not given up on Luukenen as his backup or share the duties guy either.
  20. If our young team was in the West, we would be in. As young as they are it will take more than Owen Powers first year to go anywhere in the playoffs anyway. Him and Dahlin are two you wish you had on your team. Id rather be in our shoes than yours. Oh, and I guess you just let us have that last game didnt you? The win in Detroit was earned. You should get tanking.
  21. They should bounce some teams that are in transition like an old Penguins team. Make no mistake, Perrault is still the best Sabre of all time. Id put Robert right there too. They have Dahlin and Power to build with. Power had 3 assists last night I believe. Middlestadt has become another good set up guy and Thompson and Skinner can finish. Thompson has a shot at 50 goals.
