OccamsRazor
This tells me that Toews ain't coming back. Because they only have 4.9 mill of cap space before this trade. So they will get Toews 10.5 cap hit to spend when they put him on LTIR. 1

Brewin Flames
The Vegas Golden Knights have confirmed that they have traded Marc-Andre Fleury to the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for Mikael Hakkarainen. The Fleury trade was already out there, but it hadn't been confirmed by either team until now. Fleury had a 26-10-0 record, 1.98 GAA, and .928 save percentage in 36 games last season. The big question now is if Fleury will play for Chicago. Fleury's agent, Allan Walsh, said his client will discuss the situation with his family before deciding on his future. Fleury comes with a $7 million cap hit for the 2021-22 campaign, but the Blackhawks only need to account for that cap hit if he's going to play. With that in mind, Fleury's decision on his future will be a major factor in what Chicago does for the rest of the summer.

Report: Fleury has no desire to play for Blackhawks after being blindsided by Golden Knights Justin Cuthbert Tue, July 27, 2021, 12:20 PM Marc-Andre Fleury has reportedly been traded to Chicago. (Photo by David Kirouac/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images) Twist the dagger. The Vegas Golden Knights have traded face of the franchise and reigning Vezina Trophy winner, Marc-Andre Fleury, to the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for prospect Mikael Hakkarainen in an effort to open up cap space. According to The Athletic, the veteran netminder was "totally shocked" by the move and received no heads up from the organization, instead finding out via Twitter. But there's an even bigger twist. According to The Athletic, Fleury has no desire to play for Chicago due to family reasons and is assessing his options. Those options appear to be retirement, or forcing Chicago's hand to trade him back to Pittsburgh, who reportedly explored acquiring him last summer.
