Minnesota Wild @ Buffalo Sabres, Saturday 1-7-23, 6:00pm, KeyBank Center

Wild, even if oh-so-briefly, have already demonstrated that if they pressure the Buffalo net, pressure the defense of the Sabres, they can get them scrambling around their own zone.

Buffalo is NOT a savvy defensive group just yet......easier said than done at the moment, but MIN needs to push things over in that direction to get the Sabres out of their awesome offensive comfort zone.

One good thing I saw that might work in the Wild's favor:

Buffalo looked like they were initiating some physical stuff at period's end.
They are leading because they are fine tuned to offense at the moment.

They start screwing around with that, try playing goon, without having the airtight defense to back it up, and they play into the hands of King Goon Ryan Reaves and the Wild.

3rd period has been the Sabres' happy place, lets see how it plays out now after what went on before the period ended.

I just looked for MNSOTA presentation stats on both teams at the beginning of this thread. It seems their 5 best producing players are more productive than our 5 best producing players. I will be glad if we will get at least one point from this game.

Our puck handling has been probably in the top 3 worst games of the year and yet we're only down 1. 🤔

Yea, given what has gone down, I'd say the Wild are fortunate to be only one shot away from tying this.
Stay out of the penalty box, and play in the Sabres' end, and they give themselves a shot.
