@Brewin Flames

Bruins bring Lucic back "home".
1 year deal.
Still tough, BUT, what does he have left in terms of hockey??

Bruins also sign Morgan Geekie. A solid bottom sixer who might be able to chip in scoring.

But neither of those signings add speed to the Bruins....

The Bruins sign Morgan Geekie to a 2 year, $2 million AAV deal.

Despite him not being exactly 'fast', I do like this for Boston.
I always felt Geekie was an underrated, solid bottom six guy for both Carolina and Seattle.

Won't be a be-all, end-all for the Bruins, but very, very nice player for what he does bring.

Not a fan of the Geekie ink, but Looch is still a fan fav in Boston, and even though he'll be 3rd/4th line at best, he'll still be loved for his fist.

When the bruins bring in the likes of Lucic, JVR and Geekie, you know that Bertuzzi is all but gone.

Sweeney went for the HR with Bert, Orlov and Hathaway, came up short....now will lose all 3 plus Bergeron and Krejci.

See I am the opposite here.
I get Lucic is still a legend in Boston, but I think Geekie will aid the bottom six much more than Lucic can.
Also, while Geekie isn't anywhere near the pair of fists Lucic is, he is no pushover physically, and will drop them on occasion as well if he needs to.

For me, Geekie > Lucic.

Milan has been living on his past Boston glory days for several years now...

D Dmitri Orlov to Carolina. Decent signing by the Canes.

Hmm. I like the player for the Canes...not crazy about the AAV. 7.75?? That is number one, two way defenseman type money.
No way is Orlov that.

At around maybe 4-5M AAV, sure.

Good player, but overpaid by Carolina, IMO.
