hf101
Evengi Kuznetsov, the Capitals primiere prospect, has decided against joining the NHL club that drafted him, instead opting to continue his career in Russia. Kuznetsov was expected to be the perfect replacement for Semin. The Capitals had fully expected him to make the jump at the end of his current contract, set to expire at the end of the current KHL season. So if the Capitals can't get prime prospects to play here from Russia how do you think that will affect the upcoming draft with Yakupov and Vasilevski? Is the new trend in Europe to wait till they can have free agent status before joining the NHL? flyercanuck
Yakupov and Grigorenko (among others) are already over here. I think that says it all about where they want to play. I'd definately talk to Russian players who are still over there before wasting a pick on them.
Podein25
@hf101 - I'm both surprised and not surprised by this. I thought it looked like he was coming over. I guess not. I'm never drafting another Russian again in my keeper!
