Alexei Yemelin Elbow on Downie?

Any word from the diciplinarian about the hit to the head of Steve Downie last night by Alexei Yemelin?

Since there was a major and a misconduct I thougt there would at least be a phonecall.

A suspension is expected but I haven't heard if its in person or by phone.

Personally I thought the major + misconduct was a little severe. Looked more or less like Orpik's hit a few days back. Basically a hockey play gone slightly awry.

me, too.  downie was bent over and didn't come at the puck with the speed yemelin thought he would, ended up lunging at the hit.  don't like to see it, but didn't seem suspension-worthy to me.

It was a pretty clear elbow to the head though. He should get a game or two.

An example should be made. Guy had a chance to make a hockey play, Downie does everything right to avoid the dangerous part, and a little extra makes all the difference. That guy has to make the effort To keep that elbow IN, not try to sneak t out.

I've said the same about flyers over the years. You suspend to set the example not just punish the severity.
