nossagog
http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=442694 Well there goes the trade value if the Sabres were going to let him go before the deadline. That would be a big risk for anyone if he's out for the next month.
jammer2
@nossagog That has to put a kink in the Sabres master plan, I was sure they would get a 1st rounder + at the deadline....huge loss of potential assets for Buffalo.
yave1964
I still see him being dealt before the deadline, the return might not be as high though.
jammer2
@Hockey Junkie Ott is the type of player the Sabres should be looking at trading. If Gaustad is worth a 1st at the deadline, so is Ott. Load up on these picks, try to make some of them for the 2015 draft, so their chances of landing the young phenom McDavid increase.
jammer2
@Hockey Junkie As long as the players coming back are fairly young, that fit into the long term plan. I realize you can't ice a team of 20 year olds, but being young and talented should be a goal of the org moving forward. If you can get out from under the Ehrhoff contract, I'd do that in a heartbeat. Replace him with a Ryan Ellis, who might be had pretty cheap.
