TedZep Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 I still haven't gotten used to the "Metro" division, particularly when four of the teams are within an hour's drive of the Atlantic and all but two of the "Atlantic" division teams are 3 to 6 hours away. The average distance to the Atlantic by the Atlantic is more than twice that of the Metro! Quote
idahophilly Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 Come on man, Columbus is in the Northeast Metro area! Oh, wait .... They should have named the Atlantic the Gulf of Mexico Division because Tampa is in it and put Dallas in the division as the next closest team to the gulf. We could have even carved out a "Hurricane Alley" Division Starting with Carolina. And of coarse, there could have been the "Hell No, It's to Cold, Don't want to go " Division with the Wild, Oilers, Flames.... Quote
flyercanuck Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 @TedZep I hate the Metropolitian name. It sounds so UN-hockey. And putting the teams that are so close to the Atlantic in it makes it even dumber. Quote
idahophilly Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 How about the " Great lakes Division"? Fits Detroit better than the freakin Atlantic division. Quote
flyercanuck Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 How about the " Great lakes Division"? Fits Detroit better than the freakin Atlantic division. And Toronto. And Buffalo. Quote
idahophilly Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 I would put Buffalo in a 1 team division called the "Niagara" without any qualification possibilities until they can at least compete against an ECHL team... Quote
flyercanuck Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 @idahophilly Niagara is a bit glorious, no? How about the Love Canal division? Quote
idahophilly Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 @idahophilly Niagara is a bit glorious, no? How about the Love Canal division?I'll meet you half way and say "Love Boat" division. Quote
idahophilly Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 (edited) The best thing about the love boat, they have half off halibut before 4PM... Edited April 11, 2014 by idahophilly Quote
