Jets Sign Stafford

The bigger question. What will Frolik get on the open market?

5 million seems about right for a 2nd line defensive specialist who can play all 3 positions, kill penalties, jump in on the 2nd pp and drive possession

Doesn't look like it. I don't think Chevy is prepared to go that high. In a weak FA class he will get that elsewhere.

That's why I said "on the open Market" lol :P

We knew Frolik was going UFA the moment Stafford resigned

This move was about as no-brainier as it gets. He's a solid offensive contributor, but just as important, he's a great teammate and has TONS of character. With the Jets having so many kids, and a LOT more on the horizen, he is the perfect kinda guy for them to learn from. He will show them how a professional conducts himself and why all of his former teammates respect him. He will teach the kids, on and off the ice....really, really like this signing.

My mistake. I don't think it is an "either Stafford or Frolik" type situation though. I think they really would like to keep Frolik. But not at $5M...
