  1. It does. I'd prolly do that trade. But I'm not really convinced that it's time to give up on JVR.
  2. @Vanflyer - I trust the ISS reports, or at least used to (the organization has changed in recent years), enough to not draft Ebert based on that. I might look to the WHL for D-men come June. There ain't nothing quite like the general disposition of a big farm boy.
  3. The only condition on the FLA pick is that it's their choice. Given their record this year, I would think they will be giving us that June 2012 pick. I like the idea of trading two of the 2nds for another first. Getting inside the top #20 should give you a shot at some very good D-men. It tails off a bit after that. I'm not as high on Ebert as I once, was but it's all superficial. Jammer is in the best position to comment on Ebert.
  4. @Mad Dog - really, you think PK Subban would be cheap? What makes you say that? I think he would cost plenty. Not Suter-plenty, but plenty. I'd love Suter, but I don't see this happening....
  5. @JackStraw - yeah you are right about Espo - fat bastard who I always hated. But re: the brain. It's an organ actually, isn't it. You gotta, er, work your organ if it's gonna be a lean mean machine. Ok, none of that came out right....
  6. @JackStraw - it's like "moot" - apparently everyone uses it wrong. But it doesn't matter. You can just yell that out at times during a meeting (e.g. "The point is ******* moot! Let's move on") and watch the mice scatter.
  7. @galgonWidl, why did Minny not sign Read? Seems like they shoulda...
  8. Agreed, but are sure you know what that word means?
  9. I hope Gus proves a trade is not not required. Couturier will not be traded. Can't see it. I think the 2012 Draft looks very deep on D so maybe moving up would make sense, depending on who is available. Take the best D-man we can. Take another one with LA's 2nd and/or FLA's 2nd (condtional, so *if* we get it). We traded our 2nd. We have 2 3rds (SJ's pick, via FLA form the Versteeg trade) EDIT: nice to have a few picks that we can trade around to maybe move up into the top 10....
  10. I only see two options. Where's "Send to the Woodchipper"?
  11. You are overrated!!! That's how highly I think of you (three exclamation marks!)
  12. Me neither. If Burke trades Schenn he'll be looking for somebody to overpay
  13. I suppose. He can't shoot for sh!t though. Plus there's the 4 years of Leaf stench all over him to consider...
  14. @JackStraw - do I look like a Leafs fan? If you wanna know about Leafs players, go talk to Forbsy and those yahoos. Just kidding, of course. His numbers don't provide much of a clue. He actually leads all their D-men in plus/minus (statistically inaccurate stat!!!). My hunch: he might just not be that good. But who knows, a change of scenery might be just what the doctor ordered.
  15. Changed mine. I was for patience but now I'm for trading him - his value will never be higher! jk, of course. I hope he can stay healthy. One more injury and people will stop calling him a bust and start calling him band-aid boy....
  16. @activestick FYI Couturier is 19 now - birthday in early Dec - but your point remains. He is light years ahead of JVR in hockey IQ
  17. We could have just hung on to Biron if we wanted a piss poor puck handling 'tender. Biron is 8-2 with a 0.922 SV% I shudder
  18. Very true. I'd like Cooter to see more ice-time. Unlike JVR, he seems to make those around him better. Can't wait until he is our permanent 2nd line center....
  19. So more like groin pain, i.e. every time Giveagoalup lets a softie in, my groin hurts.
  20. Speaking of which, where the hell is that smarmy bastard @ruxpin?
  21. So, I'm the only one who voted?! I'm getting so le tired of these do-gooders destroying our game.
  22. Everbody had an interest in Read. He was arguably the most highly sought after College Free Agent. He chose Philly as much as Philly chose him. That's the kind of cache the Flyer brand has. I don't mean that in a smarmy way either - it's just a fact. Minny already has their version of Matt Read - Casey Wellman. He could turn out to be a good one. A RH sniper is a valuable thing and he is still learning the NHL game after putting up decent AHL numbers. He's had trouble staying healthy though. Anyway, I digress. Personally, I'm not interested in either Zidlicky or Zanon. The latter is too slow for me - a plodder - and Zidlicky has had a serious concussion recently. Too risky IMO. Cheers
