  1. Wild refusing to have the game tied. Came right back again after giving up a goal.
  2. On the bright side, if he raises his value high enough, the Wild may be able to find a taker for him and get a decent prospect or pick in return before he reverts to being that other Victor Rask...…….
  3. Hedman...straight blast. Wild passive PK was no match for that. Minnesota needed to do what they had on previous pp chances: pressure the TB skaters and rush them into plays before they are ready.
  4. My two favorite teams going head to head. Looks like it will be Stalock and Vasilevskiy in net for their respective squads.
  5. Heh... Yea, I suspect Flyers fans aren't particularly heartbroken over the series of events at The Rock.
  6. I think most fans could have seen this coming as the season continued on for these guys. Truly disappointing season for the Devils. From Ray Shero smiling like the Cheshire Cat because he knew he was getting Jack Hughes (seriously...like BEFORE it was announced what exact place NJ had in the lottery!) to now having to fire his head coach..... to a possible exodus of veteran talent either via trade or as UFA's at season's end. Before the season started, talk was about trying to convince Taylor Hall to stay on (he will be a UFA) with the direction the team looked to take...…. well, the team certainly took a direction.....though not the one intended. I think most people also thought that goaltending and defense might be a problem and in that regard, NJ did exactly what was expected. Schneider finally falling completely off the competitive cliff, MacKenzie Blackwood, at 22 yrs old, expected to carry the load of a poor offense and a shoddy defense in front of him? I don't think so. Even with Blackwood playing great, not so sure he could have done much with what was on the ice with him. And the team then 'wasted' a 7th rounder by trading for Louie Domingue who was downright AWFUL in that game against the Sabres. And John Hynes gets the axe for deficiencies and lack of execution? Probably more like 'losing the room'. I suppose the Devils may feel there is still enough season left for someone different to spark the team as bench boss. Maybe. But somehow, this whole thing just feels like it really isn't rock bottom and could get even worse.
  7. Alright...we have a deal to announce here. PA40's get: Kyle Connor (LW) + Ryan Dzingel (LW/RW) Star Blades get: Johnny Hockey (LW) + Ondrej Palat (LW) With this deal, the PA40's get probably the hottest player in the group, as Connor seems to have picked things up, along with the positional versatility and offensive contributions of Ryan Dzingel. The Green Stars get an instant upgrade in hits, blocks, +/- with Palat, and when combined with Johnny Hockey, SOG as well. Gaudreau will hopefully move in the right direction now that they are past whatever garbage has been going on in the locker room. Calgary has been winning games lately, and with that, usually guys like Monahan and Gaudreau see an increase in their numbers. And for the Blades, Gaudreau can also represent an improvement in PP points.
  8. I know... Our dog won't even go near it unless we hang a pork chop around its neck...
  9. Well yes...like I said earlier... Domingue has a GAA that would make Wall Street investors giddy...
  10. I saw where Domingue was pulled in favor of Blackwood...with MacKenzie not faring too much better. That was the best bit of good news so far today as my opponent this week, HF, has Blackwood. Still though, MacKenzie's numbers are better than Domingue's for this game. Lehner being out with an illness saddled me with Crawford against the Blues, not a match up liked, but had no choice and figured, "Hey, Craw doesn't have to win....just not get blown up" Remains to be seen how much further damage will be done by him though.
  11. Aaaaand Corey Crawford is NOT helping matters any. He is down 2-0 after 1
  12. Well, you guys gotta realize... I don't normally do the "goalie streaming" thing. I've seen guys like Rad, Yave, Rux, Jammer and you do it with moderate to great success, but I never quite got the hang of it. So I go and try it...and BAM!! I get "Domingued" or is that "Deviled"? Like an egg. Whatever... This went against everything I was thinking... "Leave it alone, leave it alone...lady, just leave it alone..." But noooo, I had to go and do it.....and I couldn't take a chance on like, a Jake Allen, or a Jonathan Quick...hell, even a Georgiev who is losing now too would have been better than Louis Debacle... Guess there was a reason none of you were touching Louie, Louie and was left sitting there for me to bite on... Like cheese. In a mouse trap.
  13. Not sure which is worse..... That my goalies' GAA resembles a Dow Jones average, or the fact that you actually posted an Oprah meme....
  14. 5 goals in the 1st period. Normally, I'd say something like, "Unbelievable", but we are talking Domingue and talking Devils here.....it's very believable. I gotta own this one because I KNEW I shouldn't have picked up Domingue, but did it anyways trying to push Lady Luck a bit. Well, apparently, she doesn't like being pushed. Can't say I blame her. This dude may have single handedly wrecked my goalie cats for the week. And I thought Price did a crazy job of that last week....this looks worse. Crawford and the Blackhawks BETTER show up later on to offset some of this garbage....
  15. 3 goals now not even 10 minutes in against the Devils.... 25.90 GAA and a .500 Sv% ^%$# you, Domingue... The TB offense CARRIED your arse last season and I can see why they buried you in the minors then traded you for a 7th round pick!!
  16. Against my better judgement and instincts, I went ahead and picked up Louis Domingue for a quick, sneaky start today against the often-times struggling Buffalo offense. Well, two shots, two goals by the Sabres against Domingue. That'll learn me..... DON'T trust Domingue OR the NJ Devils...
  17. Koivu with the SO winner in his 1000th game, and Stalock FINALLY makes a big stop in the SO to make it stand. Appropriate way to end the game on the Captain's 1000th.
  18. No one picked up Jamie Benn in front of Stalock….and smallish Stalock was NOT going to be able to see past Big Benn on that shot. Thank you Donato for taking that ill timed penalty. He needs to go out and get a score to make up for it now.
  19. On the flipside, Donato NOT having a good game with regard to staying out of the penalty box....
  20. Not a fan of Kevin Fiala, but I will give him props on that score... Not only does he get the goal, but he made that whole thing happen by pressuring the Dallas player who had possession of the puck after Seguin beat Koivu on the face off. Kept the play in the zone, made a pass and the Dallas defense was caught off guard just long enough for Fiala to get back to the front of the net. Good one, Kevin...good one! 1-0 Wild
  21. Still plenty of game left of course, but really, offensively, Dallas hasn't done anything to suggest they are particularly threatening. Stalock isn't getting lit up like I thought he might.....and I am not seeing anything out there to this point that a goalie like Kaapo wouldn't have been able to handle.
  22. I've said for years, as a Koivu fan, that he never really was a number one center....2C at best, but to me, even in his prime, made an elite 3C. That's not a bad thing. But the Wild anointed him (and paid him) as a #1C, so his chances of living up to the hype was about nil. Reminds me of that idiot former owner of the Lightning Bill Davidson I think it was, when he anointed Vincent LeCavalier the "Michael Jordan of hockey"....then the team went on to pay him some 10M per year as such. LeCavalier was a good player for his career of course, but not even close to what he was hyped.
  23. Soucy was able to get the puck out of the zone (good on him for that), but sure paid the price
