  1. 2-1 Jets John Albert gets his 1st NHL Goal!
  2. 1-0 Rangers at the end of the 1st period.
  3. Article by: NHL.Com JETS (12-12-4) at RANGERS (14-13-0) TV: TSN-JETS, MSG Last 10: Winnipeg 5-3-2; New York 5-5-0 Season series: This is the first of two games. The Winnipeg Jets were 2-1-0 against the New York Rangers in the 2012-13 series. Big story: Jets left wing Evander Kane (lower-body injury) was absent from practice Saturday and Sunday, and coach Claude Noel said Kane's status for Monday is questionable. Rangers forward Brad Richards looks to continue his strong performance against the Winnipeg franchise, as the alternate captain has 57 points in 53 career games versus the Atlanta Thrashers and Jets teams. Team Scope: Jets: Noel shook things up Saturday as he held practice at an outdoor rink in New York's Central Park, but it was back to business Sunday with a traditional indoor session. While the players took in the unique views of skating outside with the New York City skyline in the background, the back-to-back practices were much needed as the Jets tried to straighten out following a 2-1 loss at the Philadelphia Flyers on Friday. Winnipeg had just two shots through the first period and was 0-for-6 on the power play. Monday is the fourth of a six-game road trip for the Jets, who are 2-1-0 on the swing. "It’s nice to have a day like this to forget about everything for a day and just have some fun on the ice," Jets captainAndrew Ladd said of the outdoor practice. Rangers: New York will have played exactly one-third of the 2013-14 schedule Monday and, so far, the theme for this season has been inconsistency. The Rangers achieved a three-game winning streak just twice and are 1-3-0 in their past four home games. Coach Alain Vigneault will look to build upon the performance Saturday in a 5-2 win against the Vancouver Canucks and former Rangers coach John Tortorella. Rookie goalie Cam Talbot made his first career start at Madison Square Garden and remained a perfect 6-0-0 in games started (6-1-0 overall), while Chris Kreider had the first hat trick of his NHL career. The Rangers can benefit from the support of their hometown fans, who were into it from the get go Saturday. "The crowd went crazy as soon as Kreider buried that first one," Talbot said. "They're our seventh man, we feed off their energy." Who's Hot: Bryan Little has seven points (one goal, six assists) in the past seven games for Winnipeg. ... Kreider has three goals and an assist in his past three games for the Rangers. Injury Report: Kane particpated in off-ice drills Sunday, while defenseman Tobias Enstrom (maintenance) skated in a portion of the full team practice. Defenseman Paul Postma (blood clot) and forward Jim Slater (surgery for sports hernia) are out indefinitely. Defensemen Zach Bogosian (groin) is on injured reserve. ... The Rangers had no injuries to report as of Sunday.
  4. I wouldn't let it go, but I would certainly mention it to him before your next contest that you thought it was a cheap shot.
  5. I missed the game because I was working. I hope to see the hit on NHL Network Tonight.
  6. Congrats! Even though his 1st game was a win versus my Jets it is still something to celebrate. Congrats Again!
  7. I will be working so I will have to be constantly checking my phone for updates on this game because of this weird start time.
  8. @jammer2 You have analyzed the game really well. Kane is definitely on big goalless streak and should break out soon. The guy on the Flyers that scares me is Vinnie LeCavalier. I think he is such a crafty player and will be hard handle by our Defense. I just hope he doesn't go too off in this game. Good luck as well to the Fleyers, but just not too much luck.
  9. Article by: NHL.Com JETS (12-11-4) at FLYERS (10-12-2) TV: TSN-JETS, CSN-PH Last 10: Winnipeg 6-2-2; Philadelphia 6-3-1 Season series: This is the second of two games between the Winnipeg Jets and Philadelphia Flyers. The Jets won 3-2 in a shootout at MTS Centre on Nov. 15. Big story: Philadelphia will look to stay out of the penalty box against Winnipeg. The Jets were 2-for-4 on the power play in their win against the Flyers two weeks ago. The Flyers led 2-1 when Philadelphia forward Steve Downie was called for a hooking penalty with less than six minutes left in the third period. Dustin Byfuglien tied the game on the ensuing power play and the Jets won the tiebreaker. Downie took the blame for the loss, which ended a three-game winning streak. "You got to play smart," Downie told CSN Philly. "We had the chance, we had the opportunity. I took a bad penalty." Team Scope: Jets: Winnipeg held on for a 3-2 road win against the New York Islanders on Wednesday. It was the Jets' second straight win to start their six-game road trip; they earned a 3-1 victory against the New Jersey Devils on Monday. Winnipeg led 3-0 late into the second period. Goals by Andrew MacDonald late in the second and John Tavares with just less than six minutes to play made things closer than Winnipeg coach Claude Noel would have liked. "I think the good thing is we're finding a way to win the game," Noel said. "Is it the ideal way to close out games? I'd have to say no, it wouldn't be. That's all part of game management. To me, that's an area where we've battled at trying to get better at that, but that's something we still have to obviously work on, because I don't like the way that we're doing it. But, I'm happy that we get the win." Flyers: Philadelphia made things interesting at the end against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Wednesday night but still went home with a 4-2 loss. It was the Flyers' second straight regulation defeat after a streak of seven games in which they earned at least one point (6-0-1). Philadelphia got goals 40 seconds apart from Vincent Lecavalier and Mark Streit late in the third period to pull within 3-2, but Tampa Bay forward Tyler Johnson sealed it with an empty-netter 39 seconds after Streit's goal. Coach Craig Berube expects a better effort against Winnipeg. "We didn't compete hard enough in the battles right from the start," he told CSN Philly. "Not the same [as Monday against the Florida Panthers]. Monday, we were fine and turned the puck over. Tonight, they came hard with pressure and forechecked hard. "We didn't handle it. We didn't compete on the walls and battle the puck out and do all the little things that needed to be done. … You gotta handle adversity better than we do right now. Teams are gonna come hard at us, play us hard. Gotta be able to handle that and play composed." Who's hot: Winnipeg forward Devin Setoguchi has goals in two straight games. … Lecavalier, who played his first game in Tampa on Wednesday since the Lightning bought out the final seven years of his contract in June, scored against his former team. He has four points (two goals) his past five games. Injury report: Jets defensemen Zach Bogosian (groin) and Paul Postma (blood clot) and forward Jim Slater (sports hernia) are on injured reserve. … Flyers forward Matt Read (lower body) was a late scratch for the game at Tampa Bay. He is listed as day-to-day. Defenseman Marc-Andre Bourdon (concussion) has not yet played this season.
  10. 3-1 Jets at the end of period 2. The Jets lead in shots 22-20.
  11. The Blackhawks should easily win this one.
  12. Scoreless after one period. Shots favour the Islanders 13-11.
  13. Montoya vs. Poulin tonight in Goal.
  14. Thanks Chicago Hawkie. I am continually working on her to covert her to a Jets fan.
  15. The Islanders are struggling as of late so I expect the Jets to pull out a big win on the road and get over .500 on the season. My Prediction: Jets: 4 Islanders:2
  16. I wouldn't be surprised if all 8 playoffs teams from the West score over 100 points. That is how good the West has been this season.
  17. The Jets will have a winning record by years end and make the playoffs.
