  1. So far they have both done a good job filling in. I guess we will see what happens in the off season.
  2. I think they did go in for a playoff run that’s why they traded for Johnson and that’s why they kept Laughton and Seeler. Of course they contradicted everything they said , but only to a small degree, at least they didn’t give up first and seconds to beef up for a playoff run, they just made minor deals and kept a few vets who’s main contribution is leadership and character in hopes to make the playoffs but without sacrificing the future like they used to do. Let’s also clarify , I do not love Laughton, I tolerate him.
  3. Of course Attard has way more skill than Ginning, but I think Attard was taking too many chances and got caught up a few times, where Ginning was more solid defensively. In one of the previous games Ginning had some nice hits too. They actually complement each other nicely, Ginning stays back and Attard makes the plays offensively. They could be a good inexpensive third pair, but we have York, Sanheim, Drysdale, Zamula, Seeler and Risto, so there is only room for one guy. If Andrae makes it next year, then we have to dump a couple of guys if Attard is gonna get to play, Ginning is going back to Sweden any way.
  4. Yes Attard and Ginning are looking solid, I’d almost say that Gimning is actually looking a bit better than Attard. The shame is ,we just re-signed Seeler and we have no room for Ginning. He is supposed to go back to Sweden due to having no NHL chances.
  5. The problem is we have too many skilled right wingers and only one skilled center, Frost. I like Poehlin, he’s a perfect third line center. Poehling is a more skilled ,bigger faster version of Laughton, that’s why Laughton should go. We need to get a top line center ASAP, especially since Coots is washed up. We need to get one in this draft, but we have to move up.
  6. We don’t even know if the Flyers offered up Laughton, I don’t think they did. A team like Toronto as an example, that already has skill but is lacking intangibles and grit and needs PK help, that is exactly the type of team that would give up first or a good prospect in the offseason, especially if they go out early in the playoffs due to the lack of his intangibles. Back in the day the Rangers traded two skilled forwards Tony Amonte and Doug Weight for two Laughtons named Noonan and Mattheau ,because they had enough skill but needed the grit to win in the playoffs. They won the Cup that year and Matteau scored one of the biggest goals in Rangers history. Laughton is a clutch player and a playoff type of guy that teams need, you can’t have an Austin Matthew’s on every line. I know you hate him but teams that are 90% compelete finally win when they get a Laughton type.
  7. They really started swarming us in that second period. I think we have some real good potential finishers, what we really don’t have are table setters, some highly skilled setup guys. You get some centers with pucks skills and suddenly our 20 goal scorers become 30 goal scorers. Frost is the only one with play making ability and pure offense vision. Look at our other centers, Laughton, Poehling and Cates, these guys are third and fourth liners at best. The offensive flow comes from the centers, when we dramatically improve in that area and start winning faceoffs and control the puck with some flow , you will see our wingers score even more and our PP will finally improve . We need two more skilled centers before we can even be pretenders. Heard a disturbing stat the other day, the Flyers have had the worst PP three years in a row, that has never happened in NHL history.
  8. The clutch way that Laughton is playing and his character is really increasing his trade value. There is gonna be some playoff team that goes out early due to lack of center depth or poor PK , etc and they are gonna believe that a guy like Laughton is what they need. So if someone offers a first I would do it. It’s just more ammo to trade up in this draft.
  9. He’s not gonna last six years , he’s fading fast and will retire early because he won’t be able to play up to his personal expectations. The media and twitter jerkoffs made too much out of this. How about the guy missed two seasons, it’s his first year back and he is out of gas. He just needs a rest. Torts probably wanted to rest him throughout the season but a guy like Coots will not want to sit out, now that he hit a wall , there is no choice. When you get L5 back surgery it also affects your legs and you feel like you are skating in quick sand, you lose a lot of power.
  10. He’s helping us fall in the standings to get a better draft pick. He’s everything I’d hope he would be.
  11. Tremendous goal by Frost, he has made some highlight reel plays over the last few years. I like him and wanna keep him. Everyone says he needs to be more consistent, but we can pretty much say that about the whole Flyers team.
  12. Yes and unlike old time Flyer teams, we want guys with size who can actually skate and play hockey.
  13. Catton is good but considering Coots is shot and Frost our only other skilled center, is kinda small... I'd prefer Lindstrom, he's a better fit to balance out the team. I'm trying to build a balanced team of size and skill with finesse. So that's a solid one two of Lindstrom and Frost with Coots as third line C. We already have three small or non physical dmen with Sanheim, Drysdale and York as well. So if I'm building a balanced team, I'd like Lindstrom up front or Dickinson on the blueline.
  14. I wish we wouldn't have overachieved this year and we would be in a lottery position. The Devils, Isles and lots of teams who should be ahead of us just keep losing. We have four scoring right wingers , TK, Tippett,Foerester and Brink and Michkov coming..they are all or project to be first or second line guys, there isn't enough room for all of them. Considering the rebuild, etc, if we could trade TK at the draft for the pick that would get Dickinson or Lidstrom, I would seriously think about it. It would probably have to be 5th or 6th. I would also hope to get an additional asset for TK,.maybe TK and Fla pick for #5/6 pick and another good young player. Then with our own pick we can land a dman if we pick Lindstrom or vice versa. Or if we drop all the way to #12, we can trade that and somebody else to move up to 5 or 6. The question is who. Would someone take Our pick ,FLAs pick and Brink for the # 5/6? Or maybe Drysdale and our pick for #5/6 and we also get something else. I'm not sold on Drysdale, he's the Nolan Patrick of defenseman. We need to get an impact player this year, we are way behind in this rebuild, especially at center and defense, we have good wingers...
  15. Or trade up for Lindstrom or Dickinson. We need a big skilled center to replace Coots, Catton is good but he's the same size as Frost. Dickinson is exactly the type of dman we need too.
  16. We gave up 6 goals but Frost was a plus 3, and he scored an incredible goal, he started the whole play too. I wouldn’t trade him, he is our only skilled center and he’s not a defensive liability. I wanna drop to around the 12th pick and see if we can trade up. I don’t think we will drop enough to be in the top 10.
  17. Let's collapse into a better draft position. Maybe we can get down to #12. It will be easier to trade up from there. I'd hope for being in the bottom 10, but alot of the teams below us just keep losing.
  18. If he said that, he wouldn’t have completed the sentence, he doesn’t have a teleprompter.
  19. During the deadline they said one of the teams that wanted Laughton was the Rangers, how about Kakko for Laughton.
  20. I wish we could get Dickinson or Lindstrom in this draft but both will be gone by the 5th or 6th pick. If we collapse enough and some teams below us get hot maybe we can pick 12th and have a better shot at trading up.
  21. Maybe K’Andre Miller, that’s about it. Sandin, I haven’t seen enough of him to determine.
  22. Lafrenierre is starting to turn into a good player and Kakko would probably do better with a change of scenery. Tippett was almost written off as a failure in FLA, now he’s become the Flyers best sniper. Sometimes you just need a fresh start, Kakko has size and skill for sure.
