Geez, this is what happens when Corporate doesn't have a clue how to solve a problem.  Can hardly wait until we get every 33+ vet on the team too.

Not sure how that number is calculated, or what it means, but i thought it was interesting 

It is calculated within the software.  And it means that we don't have enough regular members posting on the other 29 forums .

Don't worry I'm a fair and rational admin    and I have a great core of moderators.  I own the site as a hobby, thus I want it enjoyable for all here.  The biggest key is to discuss the topic without personal attacks towards other members and post here because you enjoy discussing hockey with other hockey fans.

Anyway, even though I'm an Islanders fan I chose not to watch game #4 as I knew the result; the team never seemed properly prepared for this series.  The Canes were not the most talented team, and were without their entire second line and starting goalie, and the NYI still could not put together a solid effort.

 

They lost this series for a confluence of reasons, but while I am happy Trotz got them into the PO when I expected they'd finish in the bottom 3-4 teams in the league, last year was the first time he'd ever been past the 2nd round of the playoffs. Yes he won the SC, but that was with a stacked team of hall of famers and all stars, which admittedly the Isles are no where close to at this time - but neither are the Canes. The rosters as they stood at the beginning of the series favored the Islanders, who IMO played well below their potential, which must go on the coaching staff.

 

All in all, a great year, but they need to get absolute garbage like Hickey and lazy, low effort players like Nelson off the roster, and replace them with hungry, aggressive and talented younger players like Wahlstrom, Bellows, etc.

 

Hopefully, they can build on this season, make some desperately needed roster changes, and continue to show progress in the coming years.

Happy to have another Islander fan on this site and I would really like this forum to grow as well.  We have a great core of members here who post throughout the site.  Feel free to invite others who you think would enjoy coming here.

I think the Islanders have had a great season especially with the loss of Tavares. Trotz deserves a ton of credit.

OK.  I'll rephrase my earlier statement

Sandstrom would then be a 2nd year player at the expansion draft and would still be considered exempt.  He wouldn't be a 3rd-year pro until the 2020-21season actually starts.

This would only be his first pro-season.  I thought players needed to have 2 full pro-seasons in order to be eligible.

I believe the schedule usually comes out in early June.

Vegas owner, Foley is pushing hard for a rule change where major penalties can have a review with a coaches challenge.  --  I'm in agreement.

Gottcha.  I knew it was something like that.  Fletcher should have protected Dumba and let Vegas have one of Haula or Brodin.

I thought Fletcher offered Tuch so Vegas would choose Haula and not take Brodin?
