  1. @EDI-Flyer. I was thinking the same thing. I was shocked seeing that listed
  2. It's on tsn but its dated april 8th. A lot of forwards are predicted to go early.
  3. Can we move someone to another late 1st rounder and get both? I think it might be easier to do that then to slide up five or six spots for nurse depleting our forward depth and losing maybe a second rounder as well.
  4. What would I do? Anybody on my roster is untouchable except coby/mezz/breezy/briere. Buy out briere and breezy. Sign another Ufa goalie or trade for a known back up. Trade coby/mezz and our 1st to whatever team wants it even if its only to move up two spots. Select best d prospect. Send to juniors. Sign streit and clowe and gagne Harts/g/vor Clowe/Schenn/reed Gagne/coots/ simmonds Mcginn/talbot or hall/ rinaldo Big Dane /Schenn Kimmo/grossman Streit/mezz or coby Mason Back up goalie
  5. @doom88. That is not what I meant. If your gm of the team with the number five pick would you take coby and our 1st in e change for your pick? I wouldn't.
  6. It would cost to much to move up to get him.
  7. We have trade pieces to move up a few spots. I figure maybe Haag? Or morrisey? Maybe pulock. But that's a bit early in the draft for him. Or maybe trade down to 20 and grab him with another draft pick from the trade.
  8. Yah your team better win now. Next year should be interesting. Do they move letang or malkin? Or both. Big raises coming with a lower salary cap. I would figure they would ride out next season as is but do you risk losing malkin for nothing ?
  9. Rangers up on devils 2-0 in second. Not looking good.
  10. @TimKerrFan12. To be honest about this draft. There are franchise players all over in this draft. This is one of the deepest drafts in years if not decades. The flyers will get a top notch talent this draft. Even the cup winner will get a really good player.
  11. I remember homer saying he doesn't believe the cap will drop as low as people think. Further heard that the players take a vote after each season to raise the cap three million from the previous season as long as the cap isn't figured to raise above that three million mark. It's not stackable. Meaning if the cap figured by revenue is suppose to rise 2.75 million they can't add 3 mill. So I'm hearing it will be set at three million above the supposed set cap for next year. Anybody seen this? I've been looking and can't find such a provision in the cba.
  12. Moving up in the draft is a choice that would prolly do more Damage then good. Lets say we finish with the 8th pick and florida finishes with number 1. What would it take to move up to that spot? They want a number one or two center most likely. So they would prolly go after mackinnon. We don't have that center they want in which we would be happy with trading. So lets scratch that off the list. Number two overall prolly will go to the aves. Now I can see a good chance here to move up. They have a lot of holes on offense and defense so I believe an offer of our 1st and read and coby might be a real good starting point. But I believe there are other teams willing to offer more for that pick for Seth jones. Our center position is really the only real strength we have. However, it's not a deep position for us. If they want Schenn we have no replacement for that. Laughton is not ready and coots is not the answer. Is there a trade that could evolve with one of their centers coming back? It's possible but that would require a blockbuster deal that would do a lot more damage to our roster to make happen. Even the thought of trading coots and our first will not be enou to land that pick. Maybe coots and our 1st and read and a dman going the other way is enough to land it. But in my mind that's too much to give up. It's prolly best to hold to our pick and select best available defenseman.
  13. I guess the better question is.... What would you take from the flyers for a top notch blue chip prospect on d?
  14. @toughfighter83. The facts are mason is a better goalie in lavys system. He is similar in cam wards ability. Breezy is a good goalie in a defensive system. His lack of mobility is very obvious.
  15. The team has zero confidence in breezy on the ice. Their play shows. Management has no choice but to trade breezy or buy him out this year. The team even with nothing to gain and and ahl defense at best is playing very well with the big boys.
  16. I really don't think you can blame the trainers. They can only go in what the players are telling them. Look at pronger. He was having issues but never said anything until it was too late.
  17. I was under the impression he was sent back because if he played one more gm he would be bound to stay with the flyers for the year and count against his elc
  18. @Polaris922. Yah I'm thinking Florida goes the forward route. I don't think your going to be dealing them for jones. Aves have holes on d and forward. Trade package could work with them. Forward and dmen and our 1st might be a good start.
  19. And there are lots of questions in this draft when it comes to needs on teams. Florida? Needs are at forward not defense. Aves needs are at forward and defense. Flames I would assume center is a big need. Nashville is at forward. Edmonton is at defense. Tampa is at forward and defense. Carolina is at forward. Flyers need defense. So if teams go by only team needs combined with best available prospect at that need I come up with two defenseman off the board when our pick comes around.
  20. Worth it? Depends on package and available prospects on the board. Coots plus our 1st to move up three or four picks to take nurse is not worth is. I want nurse. However, there are still plenty of highly rated defensive prospects in this draft and will be available at eight and even at ten. I trade nothing to move up unless its our first and third to move up a few spots. Stand pat and gather our prospects.
  21. Ristolainen is prolly nhl ready now. I'd take him if nurse isn't available. I would love for philly to get another late 1st round pick. Like around 22 or so. Josh morrissey is prolly going to be there. Maybe Haag or pulock. All fit different needs for us.
  22. I see pulock going somewhere around pick 20. To grab him at say 8 would be a waste of a pick. The others you have mentioned are going to be great players and will be around at our pick except nurse and jones.
  23. By the way things look will leave us at a reach for nurse but prolly have ristolainen still sitting there.
