    The best the wild can hope for is Koivu realize that if he wants to win a Stanley cup he will have to take a reduced role on another team. Waive the nmc and the wild get a good pick.

    Koivu is at the stage in his career that matt cullen was at when he left nashville for pitsburgh. Kill penalties, win faceoffs, play where and when you are told. I doubt mikko will do that. They need more skill on the PP. Winning a faceoff does not equate into a goal. If it did the game would just be nothing but faceoffs.

    Unfortunatly that is a fair description of this team. That Koivu is on the power play is only because no one else is able to win a faceoff with any regularity. Good Luck Bill Guerin.

    I couldn't stay awake for the third, but thought they were in the game, other than the first and last minute of the 2nd period. But I don't understand why on the power play, with the game on the line, Hunt and Dumba would be on the bench. I understand keeping Koivu on the #1 PP for his faceoff skill but the back end should be Hunt and Dumba.

    This will be the first game I will be able to watch for more than 10 minutes since the last time they played Nashville, let’s hope it goes better this time.

    I thought any player past his entry level contract had to clear waivers before going down to the minors.

    I’m not up on contracts, but if the wild send someone down and they don’t clear waivers, who pays the salary and who takes the salary cap hit.

    I’m beginning to think the best thing the wild could do, for long term success, would be. #1 rotate goalies until a clear and undeniable #1 goalie emerges. #2 rotate 3 defensive pairings, regardless of pp or pk. Let the younger guys get experience. #3 rotate 4 forward lines, regardless of situation. No pp or pk specialist.

    Offensively this team is a train wreck. Someone besides koivu has to start winning faceoffs. The lack of right handers is really forcing players, who really don't have the skills, to handle pucks on their backhands. It seems no one has the patients to wait for the best shot or make the shot when it is there. Until the offense comes around the defense and goaltending will have to be perfect.

    Is it just me or does anyone else notice that the wild look so frantic, uncomfortable, unorganized, and untalented in the offensive zone? Toronto looked so patient and controlled with the puck, the wild never had a chance.

    This year is going to be about not expecting to much and enjoying the good plays when they happen. Hopefully Bruce will realize that Mikko winning a faceoff isn't enough to make up for his lack of game on the power play. There is hope as he has replaced suter with Hunt on the #1 pp.

    Yes I am not a fan of the Nashville fans. Don't really care for the you suck thing.
