Critiquing is no easier than any other opinion. You’re not exactly blowing us away with your analysis beyond the (completely subjective) opinion that their effort is better. That supposed effort hasn’t resulted in anything either.

That would generally be a dumb style to play then. Year in and year out the best teams usually have the best metrics so to intentionally play a style that gives up possession seems bad.

People claiming the Flyers look better and the rebuild is proceeding, how do you explain them having some of the worst metrics of any team in the league. If anything, the Flyers have outperformed their numbers so far, but these things usually catch up over a full season.

Also, Torts makes them play harder isn’t a plan.

I think we’ve detailed exhaustively what is wrong with the Flyers and that it is the same stuff as the last 10 years. So I want to hear the detailed miracle plan that takes them from bottom 5 to top 5 in under 5 years.

How come it’s always the people criticizing the team that have to detail how to fix it? Why don’t you tell us in detail how the team is going to get better other than just because you want them to?

Fc, don’t bother with this guy. He’s the one that doesn’t like drafting and just wants us to sign the big UFA every year, as if the UFA players they’ve signed aren’t one of the biggest issues with this team.

I would like this post 50 times if I could. This has been the Flyers problem for years. There are only two ways to get better: draft and cap space and there is only a limited amount of both. Turning over your roster for more shots in the draft and not getting locked in to ok players at game changer money is how you maximize both. Look at Konecny’s comparisons on hockeyreference. He’s a TJ Oshie (maybe) not an Oveckin or Backstrom. The Flyers shouldn’t treat him as one just cause they don’t have those guys but maybe you get multiple shots at getting one by trading him.

The team hasn’t even bottomed out yet. It’s going to get worse before it gets better.

A thousand GMs executing a thousand different scenarios couldn’t find one to make them competitive next year. Getting to a Wild Card and losing in the first or second round isn’t competitive and I think there is zero chance of even that.

That’s a process that should take 5 minutes. No one is really worth keeping.

You sound like Flyers management: paying a guy for what you hope he will be instead of what he is. The Flyers always decide the role they need first (2C, 3D, whatever), then pay for that position almost without regard to whether the player actually fills that role.
