And the goalie interference makes no doubt, Gallagher is 100% in the blue paint and trips Murray. Okay, Murray cheated a bit and took a looooooooong time to get back on his skates after a 360°-turn.

Although I'm not really sure about this play itself, it's funny how some people think that an interference will happen only if you hit the goalie and gets him off balance.

Some people are also complaining that if it was interference, why didn't Gally get a minor? But interference does not always result in a minor, does it? Sometimes the call is just a face-off... it's up to the refs.

The city I've always heard is Markham. That is, if the NHL were to put an 8th team in Canada, it would be there. Why you ask? It's close to Toronto, but far enough away from Buffalo to avoid stepping on TWO different franchises.  :)

And would be called Toronto something too?

Like Toronto Toros or Toronto Legacy?

Is there such a thing?   🤨

I see it more as karma. This is the price to pay for wanting to switch teams two weeks into the season instead of being a pro and playing hockey. I'm sure he never gave one iota of thought to the implications of crossing the border during times of covid. In his world it was just: "Winnipeg bad, must leave, call agent".  So now he has to live with a month's worth of lost playing time (potentially) and after all that, his reward will be getting coached by Tortorella lol. I think Winnipeg won't seem so bad after all when he's through with this season.  :)

    There was.

Some people say the Cleveland Cavaliers broke it in 2016 which is completely unfair.

If someone did it, it was the Lake Erie Monsters (now Cleveland Monsters) earlier that year.

But yeah, Laine was an asshole. He doesn't deserve the Whiteout fanbase.

Laine is a feisty character. As a kid playing for the Finnish Boys' National Team he was sent home from Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament after giving the finger and running his mouth against the head coach of the team. Finland had pulled their goalie at the end of the game and Laine wanted to be on ice. The basic situation with the Jets has not changed from that situation - if Laine is not put on ice when the tough games are decided, he will get frustrated and react negatively. He doesn't act as immaturely anymore but the reaction is still there. That is possibly a good thing for someone who could win Rocket Richard, but is it a good thing in helping to win the Stanley Cup. It remains to be seen. But it really is going to be extremely interesting to see how Torts and Laine will get along (especially as CBJ seems to be lacking a center that could feed Laine the way Aho did in WJC 2016). 😅 Getcha pop corn ready!

I feel the trade is a potential win - win. CBJ gets a character that is going to entertaining for the fans to watch, love and hate, and WPG gets an immensely strong center department, thus opening its' window of opportunity to fight for the Stanley Cup. God, how I've missed hockey during this awful Covid - quarantine!

That said, it's so crazy that might just work.

Maybe Torts would prefer a dude that talk back to him instead of some guy that just sits on the bench and later says "Yeah I gotta get better. Please trade me."

Or maybe not, I don't know.

    Who understands him anyway?

I guess if all these "finings" continue, we may find ourselves in a league where EVERYONE is a Lady Byng candidate.

    Watch for it...
Calls and fines for 'roughing the puck carrier'
    'Excessive celebrations after goals'
'Damaging the ice surface by skating too hard moving up ice'
'Goalie penalties for taking too many water sips during TV time outs'

... and then we become NFL 😂

    lol.

Unless its $12 student night on weekends, we don't even fill the mooseheads arena, memorial cup aside. And tickets regularly go for $19 adult, $16 Senior and $12 for children. Trust me, I work for them and watch from the Zamboni pit almost every game.

An NHL team in Halifax would fold fast and there is zero space downtown for a new arena. I can see all the whiny haligonians demanding converting everything to low income housing for the poor now while demanding none of the run down heritage buildings get touched all over again. It took years of fights just to get the new convention center(which I also work for). Maybe they could put it up in bayers lake, but LOL. Im trying to picture a sports arena beside a Costco and Walmart in an area already known for absolute **** traffic and terrible parking design.

Halifax was built for horses and carriages. None of the streets line up and as civilization discovered cars, nobody ever thought ahead enough to realize maybe straight roads are a good idea so they left all existing curvy roads and its now a traffic nightmare anytime construction of any kind happens.

    lol I know

Mooseheads are good enough for them.

And they're cool by the way.
