I think Dubois is going to end up in Philadelphia. Just a gut feeling. It has Flyers written all over it.

What would you guess the mutual (win-win) deal would be in assets and Cap neutral?

And what Center would move to wing?:

    Couturier

    Hayes

Patrick (No! Minimize his being at the wall.)

Dubois (Who wants to play Center.)

(Not moved to 4th line Center where AVs criteria does not fit any of these 4.)

Even if Sanheim,  Provo , Meyers and  Ghost never turn into star players, we have never in our history had this many “home grown” skilled young defenseman on our team at one time. We also have a few more,  like Zamula, and York in the system. Up until a few years ago ,you could  count on one hand the number of skilled defenseman drafted by the Flyers in their entire history.  That would be ,Tom Bladon, Jimmy Watson and Behn Wilson and Tomas Eriksson  , that’s pretty much it.  These guys were drafted in the 70s. We went like 30 years without drafting a quality defenseman. Almost every other dman we drafted was a bust or was traded quickly. Our best all time  dman were  all acquired in trades, Howe, McCrimmon, Desjardins, Timmonen and Pronger were all traded for as well as somany others. We have drafted some good defenseman, we just have to let them develop.

    Excellent post. Perceptive, thoughtful.

Also 'home grown' in the pipeline, and one or two of these guys will follow Zamula and York as quality NHL players:

    Wyatte Wylie (RH)
    Linus Hogberg
    Mason Millman
    Emil Andrae
    Ronald Attard (RH)
    Adam Ginning
    John St. Ivany (RH)

  3. The 'Saturday Flyers Mystery Photo Contest' will not be posted tomorrow. The Contest is on-hold until next off-season when things slow-down after the SC, 2 Drafts, and Free Agency.

Right now there is plenty of material to post here during the season as there are 4 (or 3) games per week in this compressed 56-game season and our focus is on these. (Especially since 'the sky is falling', 'the sky is falling'.)

And, you guys are tooo sharp. Even the hardest player photos were identified!  animated smileys embarrassed

I need several months to find some photos of our Flyers that will stump you all.  animated smileys thinking

    Will he play???

Not sure i think insurance incase last minute someone can't go.

    Unless someone already can't go.

Room was made on the 23-player roster by placing Frost on the IR List. With Bunnaman (the #13 forward) inserted on the 4th line, Morin would be the #13, as you said 'in case someone can't go'.

Some of us are hoping somehow Sam Morin can play in tonight's game to remind Marchand that there is a consequence to taking runs at our Flyers and the sneaky stick work.

  5. SHAYNE GOSTISBEHERE
    D, PHILADELPHIA FLYERS

Shayne Gostisbehere skated on his own Wednesday and could be ready to return to the team when they come back from their road trip.

Gostisbehere has not played yet this season after being put in COVID protocol, but it sounds like he could be available relatively soon. He posted five goals and 12 points in 42 games last season.

    EVGENY KUZNETSOV
    C, WASHINGTON CAPITALS

The NHL has announced that forward Evgeny Kuznetsov has entered the league's COVID-19 protocol.

It appears all the Russian's on the team got together and broke league rules, as Alex Ovechkin, Dmitry Orlov and Ilya Samsonov are joining Kuznetsov in the protocol. Kuznetsov started the year with a goal and three points in four games and the Capitals will have the tough time figuring out life without such a core group of players. The NHL also announced that they have fined the Washington organization $100,000 for COVID-19 violations.

Players have got to be smarter than this -

    ALEX OVECHKIN
    LW, WASHINGTON CAPITALS

Alex Ovechkin won't be available for Washington's next four games after violating the NHL's COVID-19 protocols.

Ovechkin, Evgeny Kuznetsov, Ilya Samsonov and Dmitry Orlov will be unavailable for the team's next four games and then their cases will be reviewed.

Coach Peter Laviolette said Thursday that the four players will quarantine while following COVID-19 protocols. Laviolette mentioned that there was a positive case among the group and they are all being held out for contact tracing.

And, my good friend, optimism. This is a very, very good team and with organizational depth and excellent coaching. It will be fun watching the season evolve.

I'm planning to drive-in from Central Pennsylvania on Saturday July 17, after whipping the Colorado Avalanche for the SC, for the Broad Street parade.

Hopefully you are also able to come. Hopefully Podein25 can fly in from Manitoba. I will pick him up at the airport.

Whoa, my friend. It's only 4 games in. Unfair shot. Those are 'hard' words. It's not like you. Patience. We will let things develop.

And, not entirely accurate. In game 4, knowing there will be some who already are taking shots at Gus, I was observing the plays where he was very good in the D-zone, outlet passing, sharp passing, kicking-off offensive opportunities, and Power Play work - - - as well as his sloppy give-aways which will be hopefully corrected.

We try to be fully observant and fair, and not pre-prejudiced.

Hart i hope you're ready to be shelled....it will be critical for the forwards to help as much as they can to keep the pressure of the defensive end of the ice.

Gets pucks out and get them deep boys!!!

    Let's go Flyers!!!!

No Couturier, Myers or Frost.  Man, what tough break for Frost.   Wonder when Ghost will be allowed back?    Funny how we need him now.

Assuming he is asymptomatic.... Per https://nhl.nbcsports.com/2020/12/22/nhl-announces-covid-19-protocols-rule-change-for-2020-21-season/

For asymptomatic players that have an initial positive test the following procedure will be followed.

    • Following the initial positive, the player will be isolated and contact tracing will begin.
    • A confirmatory test will be conducted 24 hours later. If that test is negative, a second test will be conducted 24 hours after that. If that second test is negative, a third confirmatory test will be conducted 24 hours after that. If any of those tests come back positive the player will remain isolated and contact tracing will continue.
    • If all three confirmatory tests come back negative the player will be allowed to exit isolation, resume training, while the contacts will also be released from isolation.

I guess he's still testing positive?

Thx for the Protocols DM. It seems, and rightfully so, a level of personal and family privacy is maintained.

Repeat from the other thread  -

Bad vibes - Meltzer this morning (1/21/21) -

    - - the Flyers lost defenseman Philippe Myers (left knee) and rookie center Morgan Frost in Tuesday's game. No timetables were released for Myers and Frost on Wednesday; an off-day for the Flyers. It is feared that Myers' injury will be of the long-term variety. Additionally, Frost was already placed on injured reserve.

We should get an official statement later today before tonight's game vs Boston.

We already know that Bunnaman and Friedman (RH) will be in the game tonight.
