Another win, but Markstrom let in some weak goals tonight...first one especially...

...I think it was more Vladar playing solid that kept them in the game than Calgary playing solid as a whole, Calgary wasn't horrible of course but they gave up too many chances and if it wasn't for Vladar game would have been out of reach earlier - Calgary had no luck of course like you said and Kemper had all the luck in net for Colorado. Another thing I always notice in today's NHL compared to the 80s and 90s is always pulling the goalie whether before face offs or just whether the team has possession such as possession deep in the defensive zone - I'll never understand it, yeah you want the tying goal, but you equally don't want to give up anyone goals too, I don't see why they can't spare the few more second to see if you can control the offensive zone first with possession before pulling goalie...like if on power play of course you want to set up and control the play and only then when you control the play in offensive zone should the goalie be pulled...

What a depressing loss getting shutout...of all the possibilities I didn't think that would happen...

Man...up 2-0 and playing good defensive coverage up to then, not sure what the **** happened for Calgary to start missing defensive zone coverage assignments for the rest of the game...the empty net goal was very disappointing too because I've always noticed that Calgary, not only with Sutter but seems over last 20 years, they always pull goalie well before they establish offensive zone control - which frequently results in giving up easy empty net goals...just wish they'd take the time to establish control in the offensive zone first before pulling goalie, even if it means losing valuable minutes without the extra man it's useless if you give up empty net goals, and it's unlikely to get a goal without offensive zone control anyways so might as well establish that first before pulling goalie. Very very disappointing loss...

Very very disappointed that Calgary allowed Montreal to win after leading throughout the game...Markstrom even though playing good should have made those saves, and on the overtime goal Charot the 2nd guy in should have been covered...overall very disappointed Calgary could on hold Montreal off and win...

Minnesota did seem off, Calgary controlled the first 2 period easily, sorta like how Calgary was off against Vancouver the other night - maybe it's contagious and Calgary passed it off to the Wild haha, anyways hopefully the Wild get back to form but only after the Tuesday game with Calgary haha

The armour that protects players is also the weapon that injures them, think of it today's pads being so hard it's harder than a goalie mask/helmet - and then think of someone using the helmet on a rope swinging it around like a mace, that's the speed and hardness that some players get hit in the head with, way worse than plain fists and easy worse than the olden days soft padding.

Toffoli is exactly what Calgary needs which is depth on right side, nevermind he scored first game back, Toffoli on the third line makes Calgary just as deep as any other team - even against Las Vegas with Eichel back, Calgary is looking good, Calgary is a major threat now. Plus, Toffoli is already a Sutter Boy from before winning 2 Cups with Sutter - he perfect fit in Calgary, gonna half to look at the Calgary futures markets closer now haha

I think it already a home run, Calgary losses first rounder, but Toffoli is proven Cup winner and exactly what Sutter wants - Toffoli on third line with Monahan makes Calgary line up one of the deepest in the league
