  2. Holy F Sam Bennett with a hat trick for Florida against Islanders good for him
  3. Can't stand those chrome dome helmets, and now LA got the same in silver...uggg
  4. https://www.thescore.com/s/19332103 Silver chrome dome helmets just as shiny as Las Vegas build chrome domes...uggg
  5. Really hoping Seattle can pull off first ever regular season win tonight against Vegas - cheering for Giordano first captain of the Kraken
  6. Definitely the best choice for Seattle they definitely had this in mind before even talking him from Calgary which also would explain more about why Calgary could not get Seattle to agree to any deals around not taking Giordano(and Calgary would not expose others instead)...still hurts that they got him...honestly as much as I like Rasmussen and Hannafin I'd rather have kept Gio and that's saying alot because Rasmussen and Hannafin are the future of Calgary - I'd rather be a worse team in future but be able to honour our past in the best way and to me that would have been keeping Gio at all costs...Giordano always a Flame
  7. Definitely, but I really think they'll do good, Sutter built the team he wants and this season will show why Sutter hockey still works. I look at other teams especially Edmonton and I see skilled but weak teams - especially defensively. Defence for me still wins hockey games, not every team can be Edmonton/Tampa/Colorado - but every team can play better defensively of they choose to, and this is where we should succeed. Other teams should expect hard fought hard hitting games when they see us, I don't see any team out hitting is this year - so at least there's that
  8. Very happy with Calgary winning their last preseason game, seemed like Sutter hockey throughout - Ehlers and Morrissey didn't return from some scrums, so must mean we playing harder than the opposition haha. Overall I think Calgary is noticeably tougher noticeably more of a Sutter team, and that's a good thing - not just by getting Zadorov and Gubrandson, but Lewis Coleman Richardson Pitlik are all creating a tougher team identity that Tkachuk seems to fit in with. Calgary is definitely one of the tougher teams now, it's not just Lucic - it's Lucic Ritchie Zadorov Gubrandson who can win fights, then the identity toughness of Coleman Tkachuk Richardson Lewis Pitlik Rasmussen Stone Tanev etc even Monahan tougher now with new hip haha and even seen Gaudreau tonight putting his body on opponents just to interrupt plays etc. Also, I think Markstrom gonna be what we expect of him, he seems to be more focused. So, very excited for first regular season game against Edmonton, and fully expect Calgary to be fighting to lead our division throughout the year - GO FLAMES GO
  9. That's awesome if you go it's good atmosphere there If on lower bowl section M is right in the middle which is I think the best since you can see clearly both ends of ice, the rows you can choose as low as ice level right up against the glass or as high as the nosebleeds - like I said before I think section M about 15 rows up is perfect, but if you go higher to second bowl or third I think right at the railing is best since no one in front of you. There's a restaurant in the Dome too, you could eat while watching of you want, the tables have good high views of entire ice - or you can get there free hours early and eat inside dining area then watch. As for where to stay, there are hotels very close to Dome, especially in East Village some nice new hotels you can walk to game and it move weather now in Calgary. Not sure where good to hang out after since just last week you gotta show you are double vaccinated wherever you go - so make sure you bring proof of vaccination with you. But there lots of cool places downtown especially along Steven Avenue and 17 Avenue SW around 5th to 14 Street can walk to lots of bars - and there a poutine place there on about 7st SW and 17 Ave SW across beside coffee shop called Analog. It's pretty friendly so don't worry where you sit with your Flyers sweater, usually when people know you traveled so far to get here they'll help show you around. Lots of craft beer places too if you into that, if you have anymore questions just let me know
  10. Calgary controlled most of game played well, bad calls less to the loss...
  11. Good preseason win against Vancouver tonight All the veterans looked solid pretty much controlling the play the entire game, Vancouver only had half their regular players dressed, but still Calgary looked very good and strong and tough - even Gubrandson beat someone up
  12. Also, Pitlik seemed to be injured and didn't finish game
  13. https://www.nhl.com/flames/video/embed/tanev--hanifin-250921/t-277437092/c-9019402?autostart=false Haha, it wasn't a goalies broken teeth after all
  14. Well, first preseason game very very disappointing, was hoping Sutter would get more out of his players - especially his farm players. But, preseason nothing to get worried about anyways - still disappointing though. Only good thing was seeing Lucic with the A on his sweater and Zadorov hitting everyone - also Vldar looked good in net too.
  15. Preseason starts today and Calgary first preseason game is tomorrow, needless to say I'm very excited for the season to finally start I'm very hopeful this year, while sad at losing Giordano, I like the offseason moves - and especially enthusiastic to see what a full season under Sutter will accomplish. I think Calgary will make the playoffs, they will capitalize on a weak division, even though they failed to do so last year. Also, Johnny Hockey will stay in Calgary, and will have good season - add will Monahan and Mangepane. Coleman and Pitlik and Richardson will prove to be good additions. Stone and Zadarov will shore up the defence, with Tanev and Anderson getting most of the responsibilities. Really hoping Lucic gets the captain C or at least the assistant A, Lucic hasn't been in Calgary as long as other - but he is exactly what Sutter want all his players to emulate, so giving him the C would make other follow his lead more. We have a strong tough Sutter team now, and I expect that will translate into making it extremely rough for other teams to play against us - this year Tkachuk gets tougher and nastier too under Sutter guidance, and this year the rest of team fights for Tkachuk better than past years. Markstrom will be the goalie we hoped he would be as well. Haven't felt this good about a Calgary team since last time Sutter took Calgary to playoffs. GO FLAMES GO
  16. I guess ads this small aren't too bad, but still rather not have them all. https://www.thescore.com/nhl/news/2198810
  17. Haha naw, Vernon got teeth too I'm pretty sure...I think all Calgary goalies teeth were not as bad as that mask...it should be a goalie but I wonder if he went with non goalie for the teeth like Fleury always hiding his one tooth hahaha?
  18. I think bottom line is that if players are willing to make going to the Olympics a big enough issue in collective bargaining agreements - players see the Olympics as more important than the Stanley Cup. Also, how can anyone argue that a team of all-stars is not better than the Stanley Cup teams? Stanley Cup teams are restricted by the salary cap, that alone speaks to how much better Olympic teams are compared to NHL teams - it baffles me that little wouldn't want to see the best part against each other, since the players already openly do want to see it too. Even if the Olympics interrupted the season significantly, I think most players would choose the Olympics - can't think of any players saying the NHL takes precedence over the Olympics. Even though many people have no interest in the Olympics, I think it's hard to argue that the Olympic medals is not the highest achievement in any sport including professional sports.
  19. Can't be Lanny haha, he's got teeth, thinking it's gotta be a goalie...
  20. https://www.thescore.com/nhl/news/2197065 This is an awesome mask!!! The only things I can think of that would make it better is the backwards Flaming C - should never be backwards, in case being backwards brings bad luck. But other than that this is a cool mask Wonder who the broken teeth are for in front? Must be for a Calgary goalie, but which Calgary goalie has broken teeth?
  21. Too bad that Buddy Robinson went to Anaheim, him and Gaudreau are best buds, would be good too try to keep them together if not too expensive to do so. Hoping Lucic is captain this year, there are others been with Calgary longer but none that lead with better example than him - would also take team in new direction having a tough guy as captain, instead of what most teams do just give it to highest point producers. I think it would say alot about Sutter really molding this team into his image.
  22. More good signings at good prices with Stone and Gudbranson
  23. Signing Brad Richardson as well too at good price is another good sign this season will be better by bringing in more Sutter boys
