  1. He is looking for a long term deal anywhere between 62-65 million. The yearly price would be around 8 million.
  2. Zubov was well liked by the fans and his teammates. He was an assist machine compiling over 600 assists in his career which was mostly with Dallas. Definitely these ceremonies you could see were not his cup of tea or maybe glass of vodka, but it was still very well done and much needed.
  3. They surely aren't playing those foolish games. The Lightning look like they are on a mission after a tough first series.
  4. Panthers and Bennett try to get the Lightning to retaliate and get a penalty. Despearte times bring out desperate measures.
  5. The problem I see is population size for many of these cities in Canada. The 7 teams currently in the NHL hold 6 out of the top 7 top population sizes in Canada. Winnipeg comes in 8th behind Mississauga. Mississauga is way too close to Toronto for them to have an NHL team. For British Columbia there is the city of Surrey which is also in close proximity to Vancouver so that probably would not work very well at all. Surrey has over 550 thousand in population, but is less than an hour away from Vancouver. There are also a few cities in Ontario that are in close proximity to Toronto and Ottawa that have larger populations, but would not work because they are already way to close to the other NHL cities. Then you have Quebec which already had a team in the past and if any city in Canada would get a team it would probably be them. There is also Halifax, but that city probably does not have enough of a population to make it happen.
  6. Looking to the future and the HOF for the Dallas Stars there has to be consideration for Joe Pavelski who spent most of his career with the San Jose Sharks, but still has been with Dallas for a few seasons. Then there could be consideration for Jamie Benn as well.
  7. Vasy is a freakin' wall. 3-1 Lightning and if the Panthers lose this one they might as well start to make their Golf Reservations because it is all but over for them. I don't want to jinx it for the Lightning, but no way will the Panthers win 4 games in a row against this Lightning team.
  8. Maybe it was more that he seemed not to care about his physical health and what it took to be a hockey player. There is no denying he was a physical type player, but he did not take care of himself which left him out quite frequently. Then mysteriously leaving the game which could have also been because he just didn't want to deal with the physical standards of the game.
  9. Things seem to work themselves out along the way of the season. Ben Bishop retires, Anton Khudobin clears waivers and heads to the AHL and will not be back with the Stars next season. Brandon Holtby who was supposed to be the Stars starter had a 1 year contract and will most likely be playing for another club next season. Then there is Jake Oettinger who took over the starting job after the beginning of the season not being regarded as much of an option. Scott Wedgewood then came along and did well as the back up. So next season look for Oettinger and Wedgewood to handle the nets for the Stars.
  10. I don't see Klingberg back next season with the Dallas Stars and even though I see him as a good defenseman, I don't see him worth the money he is asking. So let him go and replace him with others who want to be here and have the skills to help the club for the future.
  11. In Winnipeg next to the word lazy is a photo of Dustin Byfuglien.
  12. This team is full of potential. They are in a division that is also very strong as well. There are 6 teams that are very strong including the Stars in the division. This team is strong everywhere on the ice and that could not be said coming into the 21/22 season. The Goaltending issue was very murky to say the least heading into the season. but has become a lot more solidified with the emergence of Jake Oettinger and a capable back up in Scott Wedgewood. I think Holtby is gone. The defense is one of the most physical defenses in the league, but could easily improve with their offense with the likes of Heiskanen and Klingberg. I am not sure if Klingberg will return next season or if he will choose to go to another team. The offense was very erratic at times during the season and Benn, Seguin, and Radulov did not perform up to par. Then the younger players in ROBO and Hintz were really good and are the future of this offense. Veteran Pavelski was also fantastic as well and will return next season. With Oettinger having more experience and possibly the addition of Mavrik Bourque the team should once again make the playoffs again next season. They should also try and add another defense to the club in the off season as well.
  13. They're aging players who still have much left in the tank such as Pavelski, Burns, Spezza, and even Ovechkin. But since Charo has officially retired that leaves Joe Thornton as the oldest active player in the NHL and he was not productive at all this past season and he should retire. That then would leave the Edmonton goalie Mike Smith as the oldest active player in the NHL and goalies seem to have extra years.
  14. Dallas has a lot of potential with both a good veteran presence on the squad as well a young talent that contributes to the club. As these veteran players such as Radulov, Seguin, and even Benn start to transition out another generation of Stars players come to the front like Robertson, Hintz, Oettinger, and Heiskanen and that is not including those waiting in the wings like Mavrik Bourque and Wyatt Johnson. This club is set up to be good for many years to come. Whoever takes over this team as coach will inherit a team that should easily be successful right away and for a long time into the future.
  15. It is obvious to see that Jake Oettinger and Jason Robertson are young stars of this team. There are also players like Mavrik Bourque and Wyatt Johnson who are on the horizon who are going to easily help this club very soon.
  16. Being a Dallas Stars fan, I wanted them to raise the Stanley cup and well that fell just short in game 7 versus the Calgary Flames in the First Round. So now I have to hop on the bandwagon of another hockey club for the playoffs and I thought hard about this. I thought in the West what about Calgary since they were the team to take out my Dlass Stars. I just couldn't because I was still a bit salty about the loss. What about Edmonton to see McDavid win it which would be good, but I don't like Evander Kane so that was a no. Then there was St. Louis and they just won a few years back so I was like no to that. That leaves the Colorado Avalanche in the West. I also think if any team deserves it they do. In the East, I did the same type of analysis. The Florida Panthers and I immediately said no to them because I am not a fan of Bobrovsky. The Carolina Hurricanes to me seem a bit arrogant with the whole Storm Surge and all that so they were a no. The New York Rangers is another no because of Ryan Reaves a player I do not like. That leaves the champs which I do think would be cool to see them get 3 in a row. So it is the Tampa Bay Lightning who I am rooting for. I really would like to see the Lightning win 3 in a row because it has only happened a few times before and never in my lifetime so that would be rather cool to see. So the Lightning in 7 games over the Avalanche.
