  1. I think by now it's pretty safe to say the following: They all didn't just forget how to play hockey. AV didn't forget how to coach - his system worked last year, it's shown glimpses of working this year. The kids had skills 12 months ago, they still have skills now. They didn't just misplace their 'skills'. This is not Chuck's fault. Yes it would have been nice to get a Dman for Ivan but there wasn't much available at the time. Hindsight, I wish he pulled the trigger on a trade if it was possible. So what's left for possible reasons for this sh!tshow?: There is some kind of feud between players: Vets vs Kids, Hayes gave someone a bad nickname now they hate him...who knows Coaches lost the room: Maybe they are all tired from so many games, with AV's up-tempo style they just can't keep up and they all need naps. Thus resulting in over-tired kids complaining about their parents coaches. Rift between the coaches causing factions: Hey it's possible. All 3 were/are NHL head coaches and I bet all think they know how to fix what's happening. Some players buy in to each coach and Lord of the Flies ensues. The players are just tired from this grueling schedule: This is completely possible. I know my wife is tired of me saying "sorry, Flyers are on" the past 1.5 months. She asked if they are on every day now. So maybe, just maybe the players just have nothing left in the tank. No preseason, maybe little training, COVID break....all that leads to crappy play due to fatigue. Then that fatigue leads to sh!tty play and fissures in the room. The team as assembled isn't as good as they showed last year: It's entirely possible that this team as assembled is a playoff bubble team. Aging vets, young kids still learning and are still getting used to the NHL gruel, crappy goaltending.... It's a combination that is entirely possible. Not to say that two or three key pieces could be added/removed, the goaltending recovers to average or better and this team is fighting for the division lead. Am I missing any? My ranking in order of possibility is 4, 5, 1, 2, 3.
  2. Stat shown... Buffalo first time scoring 4 goals since March 9th... (Also against the flyers). Lolol
  3. By the looks of it they don't have two lines worth rolling
  4. We need Isaac to step on the gas. 15pts in 53gms last year isn't getting it done. I was hoping he would be that big winger they've been searching for.
  5. I don't know. Swamp Rabbits are the real deal. Been a good team for a while now. Probably give the Flyers a good fight at this point.
  6. I've been watching Flyers hockey for (too many) decades, I've been reading what you goofs have been posting on multiple forums for longer than I care to admit, I created this forum with HF to learn/read/discuss even more. And here I am, dumbfounded by this whole thing. That they waived him, that nobody picked him up and the fact that I apparently still know diddly about hockey-man/owner/GM related things. I would have bet a large amount of money on him being picked up. You all missed out on a nice windfall. Losers. If I was a GM I'd have put a warm hug around Ghost and welcomed him to my team. (and that's why I'm not a GM and know nothing about hockey)
  7. Giroux said this last night to JJ/Jones after the OT winner. Giroux said something like "I didn't say a word, Braun and Laughton spoke up...." The fact that the leadership didn't says something. Maybe Giroux/Jake/veterans all have tried a few times before and got nothing from it.
  8. Admins, please close the thread. The answer has been found.
  9. Sorry, I'll stop after this..... Ghost is the 4th best dman on this team currently? Is that safe to say? Ivan, Sanheim, Meyers (arguable), then Ghost? Then the rest... Morin, Gus, Hagg, Prosser, equipment manager. So what's it say about this team that they can waive their 4th best dman? How the hell did they get to this point? Huge cluster.
  10. AV says this is for 'flexibility'. As mentioned earlier, it would only pull off 1m from the cap. So why not waive Prosser, Gus.... hell, Hayes (he's done sh!t all year), nothing against Oskar but he's pretty worthless out there also (with an excuse, I know). Let's see, how about NAK? TK looks like he just came from mites. JVR is back to himself. Myers showing why he wasn't drafted. They are all playing like crap. After reading more this is, imho, about AV being pissed about Ghost's comments the other night. Maybe, just maybe, tied to another move but the choice of Ghost is nothing more than butthurt feelings.
  11. I know we (the forum) talked about it for years but I don't remember them (flyers) actually doing it. Instead they tried the 6'7" guy that's played 7 games in 3 years.
  12. You're not wrong. But to be fair, that's every single player on the team right now.
  13. Maybe. If he clears, do they have to recall him from the AHL when they come to their senses? Does he have to clear again?
  14. Is that right? I thought if he was claimed it's all on the team that claimed? I'm not a cap guy. (clearly) If it clears only a million, then this is purely a shot across the bow at the team from AV/Chuck. Fall in line, don't speak out. To me it's asset mismanagement at it's finest.
  15. Ha. Right? Although I would have done the hypithetical William Andrew Michael Junior Nylander for Meyers that was thrown around awhile back. Not sure that was actually a thing but I would have pulled that trigger pretty quick.
  16. Only better in contract but Gus can't play actual hockey. Ghost can. I can't imagine any GM thinks that Gus is better than Ghost on any level. (Not arguing, just stating.)
  17. Good point. Completely agree. Apparently I have unintended man-crush on Ghost and I can't see him for what everyone else can see him as. I actually enjoy watching Ghost and if paired with the correct dman, I think he has a lot of value. Then again, maybe that's why I'm not a NHL GM. To me Ghost actually provides creativity, something this team sorely lacks. He's better than Ivan on the point on the PP that's for sure. He's a better dman then Gus, Hagg. Maybe he was negatively vocal about AV or Chuck. If he doesn't get claimed I'll be shocked.
  18. If it's not to clear cap room to sign a legit #2 or better defenceman, that this might be one of the stupidest moves I've seen in a long time. Ghost had to fetch at least a draft pick, hell most of us thought at least a 2nd rounder or more. To just waive him? What the fack is going on.
  19. Pretty sure TK doesn't know how to hockey any more. He flat out sucks, even worse than Hayes if you believe it.
  20. Maybe @flyercanuck was right. Farabee is coming along pretty okay. Kid is really coming into his own. No look passes, trying to single handedly get points for this $hit show of a team
