Yeah... I tried to defend Subban before. Somebody posted a bunch of pictures showing him taking cheap shots at his teammates during practice.
But, he's a hell of a hockey player.
-
I like PK. I don't believe the reports of dislike from his teammates.
I think he's a hell of a hockey player. And, He's shown a lot of class in not reacting or replying about his treatment from that fool Therien.
Brett Hull was, (and is), an ass. He got a pass from the press. If Hull could say and do what he did without censure, then why is PK pilloried.

Like the rest of you here, I'm proud of my kids and grandkids. I confess that I try to steer conversations toward events in which my kids have done well.
Anybody read about the draft list for the QMJHL? If you happen to look at that list, and if you have interest in the American kids, you might scroll down it and remark "Geez that's blocker's grandson!".
But, I would never mention it.

Kirk was a great hockey player. Red Fisher described his play as "Kirk is work". He left it on the ice every shift.
But, his idea of being a captain included "screaming in the locker room" nightly. I wonder if he coached the same way he captained.

Pee-air.
The dehydrated Frenchman.

get the ball rolling...He makes decisions with help from his Dad. Before he was committed to an agent, John LeClair took him and his Dad out to dinner. The purpose was to influence them into signing with Lewis Goss. Z's Dad is shrewd and keeps things close to his vest. They didn't commit. I think John was a little sore because he and my son are friends.

Flyers could use my boy Z. Buffalo stunk with him in or out of the lineup, but as Ted Nolan repeated often, he brought life to that team.
Drive and enthusiasm are essential building blocks for contenders.

Murray and Nolan will now have a chance to bring in their own guysWonder how much influence Murray will cede to Nolan in the choice.
Also, they gave an A to Zemgus in the last game. Made my eyes water a little. Pretty good for a 20 year old.

He's too humble to admit it, but I bet blocker taught him that moveWell, I wasn't going to mention it.

Yave.....
He's a pistol. Like you say, he doesn't have many goals, but he's been a factor in a lot of games.
Plus, he's a really nice kid.

I admit I'm biased toward Z. But, I think Sabres have a little more life when he's in the lineup.
-
FC is, as usual, dead on. Nolan is the right guy at the right time. And, Sabres are not trading their future away in order to draw fans today.
I dunno what's going to happen down the road, but seems to me that Sabres are dealing with reality in a rationable way.
-
I would go with the best defenceman I could find. Some horse that I could ride for close to thirty minutes a game.
-
Geez, what a blow to Buffalo's offense.
I'm going to try to follow the Sabre's game tonight because Z is returning.

You don't have to be very smart to get a job as a hockey analyst.
Barry Melrose, Mike Milbury and Dale Arnold are examples.
-
I don't think his son had a damn thing to do with the trade.
You can play competitive youth hockey from anywhere. My grandchildren, (from Vermont), played in a league which included a Florida team.
Geography isn't a factor anymore. If you want your kid to play elite hockey, and you're not overly worried about the cost, then your location doesn't matter.
-
I don't think it's as simple as Martin St. Louis wanting to follow his son. That might be a factor, but there's a lot more going on.

always thought MSL was a "suck it up" type of guyMe too. I think Radoran is right. Smells like one "issue" too many. St. Louis is a semi-regular at Cairns in Burlington summertime. He always acts with graciousness and class.
-
I dunno.
Martin St. Louis is a pip. He's old, but he can still play. Callahan is a third or fourth rate Mike Keane.
St. Louis will help the Rangers this year and maybe next. Callahan won't make a bit of difference in the fortunes of Tampa.
I think Rangers won this trade.

Right now I have to blame LaFontaine for being a baby about thisI heard speculation today that he was actually fired. Guess we'll never know what really happened.
-
I've trained myself to give my employers a great bang for their buckYeah, me too. You sleep well at night knowing you did your best.
-
Nolan has a lot at stake. I think he really wants the job. I know he is very fond of most of his players.
He has more integrity than me. He might walk.
Every time I worked for an autocratic boss, I shut my mouth. Waited for an opportunity to stick it to them.
-
He played his best game as a Sabre in beating BostonWell, considering his games as a Sabre, that ain't saying much.
-
My guess is after receiving over 4,000 phone calls and emails per day... everyday, from someone called HockeyJunkie demanding he not trade anyone since his first day on the job, Mr. Lafontaine finally succumbed to the pressure.
Good one.

BTW.
US lost to Latvia in the IIHF and
"Zemgus Girgensons squeezed the puck between the pads of the veteran goaltender Tim Thomas to break a 4-4 tie in the third and help Latvia upset the United States, 6-5, at the world championship in Belarus."
