  1. man my brother and i were jumping around the apt. screaming when we scored that last goal. what a great feeling to beat the penguins in a game like that.
  2. my ideal playoff beard would look like this:
  3. i wonder if wayne can grow a mean beard. speaking of which, i'm expecting Kubina to grow a good one as well.
  4. meh. not going to happen, though it's nice to think about. maybe give it another couple years to mature and marinate. it's a good group and they've been great to watch. this playoff series versus the Penguins will certainly be one for the ages. can't wait for it, actually. cancelling all and any plans for Wednesday.
  5. at least they didn't score on that pp. it was as good as a **** you to the league as we're going to get...
  6. a joke. i guess he's just playing for the wrong team. complete bullsh*t, but you know, the pens are the golden boys so not surprising at all.
  7. they should have had him throwing the glove
  8. is that sarcasm too? i just wanted an occasion to use a Princess Bride quote
  9. you keep using that word. i do not think it means what you think it means. re: infamy
  10. i gotta say i prefer it when the coaches stay out of stuff like this. it's great to hear how Berube really feels, but i just get this bad feeling that it just sets the table for Crosby to burn us with backbreaking goals and plays.
  11. oh look it's an ESPN senior staff writer who's deigned to talk about hockey for 30 seconds and thinks people should listen to his uninformed opinions.
  12. i agree with you here. we forced them to resort to cheap shots in and away from the play in order to get their licks in because it wasn't happening on the scoreboard. the circumstances of the game didn't allow for us to respond, either smartly or equally, to Vitale's hit on Grossmann and that's a shame. we won which is great and should always come first, and yet my thirst for blood and retribution continues unabated.
  13. i can't say i see anything wrong with that hit, nor our reaction to it. i wish we would have buried him earlier for the Grossmann hit, then we wouldn't be having this conversation.
  14. 'Mike Milbury on the end of yesterday's Flyers-Penguins game: "I can remember being on such a perch, or at least trying to climb over the boards to get at somebody to make a point. And I thought Dan Bylsma should have taken off his skirt and gone over there." [CBS Philly]' and more from him: 'One of the instigators of the fight was the Penguins’ Sidney Crosby. “Little goody two shoes [Crosby] goes into the corner and gives a shot to Schenn. Schenn was late to the party, he should have turned around and drilled him right away, but I guess better late than never,” Milbury said. “So you know, Crosby gets cross-checked, big whoop. He said after he came back from his 35th concussion, ‘I’m not going to do this anymore, I’m not going to get into this scrums, I’m going to stay away from that stuff.’ He couldn’t help himself because there’s a little punk in Crosby. He’s not the perfect gentleman. He’s not the sweet kid you see in interviews with his hat pulled down over his eyes. I’d say screw him, hit him,” he said. “There’s a lot to settle after that.”'
  15. seems par for the course from fans of the pittsburgh penguins. their players attitudes rubbed off on them: always eager to give **** but whine when it gets thrown back at them. spoiled. childish. sounds about right.
  16. if crosby had any class at all, he wouldn't have even commented on it in the post-game. thought he'd grown up a little bit, but i guess i was wrong.
  17. that **** was amazing! it was killing me when i saw him doing it, and even better on slow-motion replay.
  18. i thought crosby was over that BS but clearly he wants to continue whining. screw him. "oh i got crosschecked four minutes ago and fell down. why me? someone take care of this!"
  19. We win a hockey game and Crosby got hit in the face with a puck. Sounds like a good enough night for me.
  20. I really hope there's a buyout clause in the new CBA so we can get rid of him.
  21. He thrives on that kind of crap. He did it to Ray Emery and he did it to Richie just in recent memory. he always has to get his sad, pathetic little jabs in, and he never let's it go. Weeks from now Bob might answer some questions after a game and Carchidi will be sure to write "Bobrovsky, who weeks ago refused to speak to the media saying his English was too poor..."
  22. it's all obviously on bryz. according to our favorite beat writer he was "sleeping on the post" while carle was overplaying, then mishandling the puck right before he gave it away to the TB player. [it's updated to "Carle inexplicably losing a puck behind his own net while his goalie, Ilya Bryzgalov momentarily dozed, as Tampa’s J.T. Wyman slipped it into the net."] i'm guessing Timmay P couldn't wait to type out that one. sometimes you just can't get a break. anyhow, like others have said, some bad giveaways on our part lead directly to goals by them. we've seen this happen before where we control play, make a mistake and then pay the price. we had some unlucky breaks in our offensive end too, and Roloson played great, always seemed to be in the right spot, pucks were just hitting him—that happens. what should have been the tying goal went under his pad, hit the post, then went back out underneath him. bad luck. a couple bad mistakes that should at least serve as reminders for the rest of the year on what not to do; it happens. i don't think we played a poor game, but since we lost we have find someone to blame. When does the article come out about whether Bryz is going back into the woods? EDIT: one thing i really liked was Simmonds's effort on his goal, leading the rush and working that give and go with Schenn. was a really pretty play by a line that worked hard all night.
