  1. I hate Kennedy, he always scores against the Flyers and hope he goes to a WC team. Tired of looking at him also.
  2. @JackStraw Not sure about Kessel but Forsberg was able to skate when we traded him to the Preds. Pronger is out definite and not sure if he is able to return. I'm not sure on the CBA on this matter, I remember this past deadline we couldn't trade Briere because he had a concussion.
  3. I see your point but don't see Richard's personality in G. Also G handles the media way different then Richards.
  4. Don't think they can trade a injured player. Thomas was a different case.
  5. It is inevitable that G will get a extension here and won't make it to his RFA status. I think it will be the max on years 8 and a average cap hit of 7.5 mil. I would want to see him retire in a Flyers jersey but doubt it. I think he's well worth the money, he's a competitor and willing to improve all areas of his game. We can never have enough of these kinds of players.
  6. I thought players get paid if they retire because of injuries. The insurance company pays them not the team, pretty sure this is the case. He's not officially retired because that cap hit will hurt the Flyers.
  7. Let's just pretend they would trade him back to us and demanded the 11th pick. Who would make that trade? I probably would.
  8. Can we have a mulligan? Or wr would've been fine giving Bryz a very short term contract while holding onto Bob.
  9. They can rename the game to KHL 2014 lol.
  10. I would like to see Homer hold onto the cap savings instead of giving it to players who are not worth signing. Example is Streit, he's overpaid and not worth the 4 year deal. This is a good chance to rebuild the team, if rumors are true on Edmonton wanting to trade the 7th pick to us for Coburn, Laughton and a 3rd rd pick. I would highly consider it then we can draft 2 young dmans. Maybe keep Mez and see if he will be the same from 2 years ago if not it will free up another 4 mil next offseason. If we stink next year, I don't mind at all then we get a high draft pick and get to see if Crawford or Lundqvist will be available if Mason doesn't work out. We would have cap space to play with but I highly doubt Homer or the Flyers do this.
  11. Do u believe a word Homer says? I truly don't.
  12. The cap hit would stand as we already use the 2 compliance buyout this year.
  13. @King Knut We saw flashes of Bob when he was here, he just needed time to work out hus flaws and to gain experience. I hated the trade last year and now it bites us in the ass as we have no goalie yet again.
  14. Great news, which goalie will homer give the next lifetime contract to? Afraid he never learns from mistakes.
  15. Streit will probably be ok for the 1st 2 years then his play will fall off, right now I see him as a PPQB only. Been reading that he's a defensive liability, I can see him becoming a Lilja in years 3 and 4 so we will carry dead cap space. As for Bernier, yes he's just a unproven goalie but I like his protential more then Mason. To me these flash in the pan goalies don't last long in the league. The goalies that are slowly developed seems to last longer in the league. For example Jim Carey and Dom Hasek.
  16. That pick for Mason could've been part of package for Bernier but who knows what was offered from Homer. If Mason doesn't work out, look at the goalie market next year and tell me it interest you besides the two I named. Yes we didn't give up a roster player for Streit but that contract will hurt us 3-4 years down the road. How has he address our weakness from last year so far? I don't see it. I don't really care for the draft picks besides the 1st round, their picks in the later rounds sucks anyways. Tired of them drafting mucklers, grinders and high energy guys. They need to find players with skills in later rounds to build a championship caliber team, I have no confidence they will anyways so the picks will be useless.
  17. Sad to say Homer will make atleast 1 mistake each year. If Mason doesn't work out this year then I see him signing a over the hill goalie next year and we will be in the same position again. Seems like we are curse at the goalie position. Don't know when he will learn how to manage the cap, he can give bums like Gervais, Shelley and Lilja a 2-3 year contract to eat our cap space and that hurt us from keeping Bob because he was way overpaid as a backup.
  18. Nvm. Didn't see link above on IPhone. Only 2 guys on that list interest me, Crawford and Lundqvist. I don't see them becoming available in the FA market. Hiller and Halak doesn't interest me at all. Miller will be another Bryz, so we will yet again sign a stop gap goalie if we buy out this bum.
  19. Not only the draft but our bonehead GM made some bad moves also. Grats Hawks fans.
  20. Huh? You say Bob plays at his best on a bad team and then stats he's on a better team. I have no idea what you trying to say. By my interpretation he should've been a All Star goalie on our team then.
  21. Pretty sure we could've gotten Bernier and a dman prospect or pick(s) for Couturier. Another thing I don't get is why trade for Mason at the deadline and give up those picks when we all know for sure Bernier would be available this offseason. Just another bonehead move by Homer to me, he doesn't have a plan at all. He has a reaction to what's the best available player at the moment a la Streit.
  22. "But, the Flyers took a dose of their own medicine this time and swiped Mason, once a top prospect, in time for his prime." I don't think they swipe Mason. They couldn't wait to trade him after getting a Vezina winning goalie from us. Bob is their starter going forward so that made Mason expandable, I remember reading that Homer had been trying to trade for Mason the past few years and Columbus wasn't interested in moving him til they got a true no.1 goalie.
  23. I think you are right about trading Read but not for what we really need. It will be another forward (Bobby Ryan?). He will amnesty Bryz and give a 5 year deal to a old broken down Backstrom. I can picture it now. Homer or should I say the Flyers never make a trade or sign the obvious player we need, they think they are smarter then everyone and make the wrong choice. This reminds me of the signing of Beezer instead of Cujo.
  24. @hf101@JackStraw I do hope I'm wrong on Mason but what are the chances of him becoming a Vezina candidate again? I'm just tired of Clarke and Homer making the wrong moves to give us a better chance to win the cup. Sick of them trading for good forwards and refusing to build a better d or goalie. When Homer does address the d, he goes and trade for a over the hill dman who is past his prime. Sorry for my ranting today, just frustrated by that news today.
