someone already said it, but i'm thinking like 6-1 pens. we'll sneak one past the goalie, but otherwise the pens are gonna skate circles around our guys. whomever Berube hates most will be the sacrificial lamb in net.

All do respect radoran its criticism when someone is pointing out the teams weaknesses, or the team needs to do this or the team needs to that etc.... What are you supposed to say to someone when there first post on the topic is "the team should be erased form history" or no point of playing any more this year" That's not criticism...I do not know what that is.
it's basically a hissy-fit. someone needs a blankie and some warm milk before they're put down for their nap.

you guys blaming hartsy... come on man. the problems we're having go way beyond one team member. there's a reason that ALL of our top scorers are having trouble scoring. what that reason is... well, that's anybody's guess, but it seems silly to me to single out one player here.

No there are Flyers fans who think that yelling behind the bench is better coaching, than doing absolutely nothing and just accepting what's happening out there
Tortorella switched his top lines and that resulted 2 goals, i did not noticed any changes that our coach did during the course of the game
well... a solid argument is that Torts has a LOT more to work with. him shuffling lines is basically the choice between steak or lobster. not losing either way.

my my we have a short memory. Kyle Calder and Mike York say HI!

Yeah, I read that article. Just saying I'm not concerned that that circumstance will play out.
yes.. that article also relates a story from pronger's friends claiming that he still has his allowance money from childhood. in other words... prongs is gonna collect every penny come hell or high water. can i say hell?

i have no hope for this organization until, and IF, homey is fired replaced by Hextall and Snider vows to step back completely... that or die. BOTH are 'IFs'

The 2013-2014 Flyers OFF-season, We Welcome you! can't come soon enough now!

@mojo1917 - best game of the year for the Flyers, imo. They did a lot of good things. The first Vancouver goal was a total fluke. The last maybe a blown coverage on the rebound. It was a tough loss because they played well and really looked like winning this one. If they keep it up, and build on the good stuff the wins will start to come.
i have to agree... as bad as losing and going 1-6 is, this was their best game of the season and they probably deserved a better result. having said that, this team is garbage.

wow.. there are still actual flyer fans who think that yelling behind the bench is good coaching? LMFAO.
-
'guess who ate the ****-sandwich on that one' lol... great line.
edit: oh FFS we can't say **** here? ok boys.. i think i'm done with this site now.

this is it... this is our chance to secure the front runner spot for the top draft pick next summer.
-
Unfortch... This is fully what I expected. What I didn't expect was better than average goaltending.
-
yeah.. they'll give it 3

Jack... he definitely told the reporter to get lost. It was the same reporter (Sileski) that Snider was yelling at too... I read this morning on philly.com or csn that after the Chief told him to "get lost" he actually left the building! The reporting is apparently new on the scene and his first week of covering the Flyers is not going to well... LOL
it should be no surprise why Sielski is the new media whipping boy for the Flyers. He's come after them hard in his brief little beginnings here. Is he wrong? NO. But, I'm not at all surprised he's going to have trouble getting his questions answered from now on. Maybe he should try a Triumph the Pooping Dog trick.

Not sure how they're not good on paper.
They're very good on paper.
The fact that there are so many old men and you g made made of paper PLUs the fact that Lavvy's system was non existent last year.
But that's not on paper. On paper they have a ton of good players... Who probably won't play full seasons.
i don't think they're good on paper where it counts. goaltending and defense. they've got some good offensive tools, but they'll have to outscore everyone on a nightly basis... just don't see it happening. not to put too much stock into the preseason, but what you saw was foreboding. they were chasing the game most of the pre just as they were most of last season and the one before that. i think lavy is gonna be on a very short leash. it they come out the gate with a much less than .500 avg... look out.
-
your bad feeling is based on the fact that this team is not really even that good on paper. i think we're on the precipice of a very bad year in flyer hockey. i'm usually not the debbie downer, here... right? someone back me up! but, i have absolutely no hope that the flyers make the playoffs this year.
-
Miller did not back down a bit. And neither did my boys. We are going to fight anyone that gets in our way
rick!?

"I tried to defuse the situation by putting Kessel, Bozak, and Ashton on the ice (against Scott's line), feeling that there was no threat to something and more carrying on, but obviously I was wrong," said Carlyle.
LOL...Brilliant move, Randy!
well... in theory, it should have worked. there was a time when the tough guys had respect for the skill players and didn't try to goon it up with them. i guess that time is OVER. while i don't particularly like Kessel and don't think much of him as he can be a cheapshot guy, I don't think he had too many options with a 6'8" guy bearing down on him like that. it was a reactionary play and i mean hey.. what are you gonna do when a beast is bearing down on you and all you have is a stick!? well, you're gonna use it. that's all there is to it.

i can't think of a better sabotage plan.

I was impressed watching Morin last night, he looked comfortable and seemed to have good ice awareness. But definitely, send him back to juniors and then maybe a year in the AHL after that. No need to rush the kid (or his ELC).
honestly... he looks about as poised as Hal Gill out there, so there seems to be no reason why he can't play in the nhl. but, it would not surprise me to see him stick with them for the 8 games or whatever it is.

craaaaapppp!!! i totally missed those. in fact, i didn't even realize there was a 'fantasy forum'.

i'm gonna have to claim a half grunch here on this thread. i only got about half way through before the same ole theme kept repeating itself. the flyers are apparently deemed 'classless' here in this thread.
i disagree. it IS a business and teams are in it to put the best team possible on the ice. that will seem cut throat if they're doing it right. if they're not... everyone's got fuzzy happy feelings ... and that's just great. especially if they can find a way to win as well. gagne should be smart enough to know that if there is no deal on paper, than there is nothing. if he really did shy away from negotiating with other teams, then he was negligent to himself.
i cannot blame the flyers for any part of this gagne situation, but i can find a lot of blame for gags himself. he's a good player, i would have liked to have seen him back. it's unfortunate, but the flyers just don't see him in their plans. most likely because they want to see what Laughton can do.
now... a common refrain of this board is that the flyers have, historically, had a problem with re-signing/signing aging veterans and not leaving enough roster spots for their emerging youth. well, as soon as the flyers appear to be listening to this type of logic, this board gets all fussy about exactly what we complain about most.
it seems right here in this thread we can see the fickle nature of the philadelphia flyer's fan. stop signing aging veterans!! stop bringing back personnel based on loyalty!! oh.. wait.. that is until it's gagne! how dare they smite gagne! or the next player that you want them to bring back or resign.
