@flyercanuck No no Kane will fine, I know this guy at the gym that has a copious supply of anabol. In all seriousness, you are right with the size assessment. It was scary how many liberties the Sabres took on the Flyers in the early portion of the game last night. Size would certainly be needed against the B's or Rangers. I wonder if they will make another move to beef up their roster before the deadline.
@Vanflyer True he is pretty expensive. Despite his over all douchiness, I like Kane. In my world I would take him, but you're right that price is pretty hefty.
Hold on, let me guess, all Holmgren has to do is shake the old "goalie tree" and out will come a 1999-2000-esque Martin Brodeur? Oh, and I heard 29 other teams were blowing up Holmgren's phone begging for the services of one Ilya Bryzgalov. Always insightful as usual Quigly.....
There is an interesting comment in Puckdaddy's write up. One person mentions that Nashville has a system that produces great defenders, but once out of that system they are mere average at best. With the exception of Timonen, they may be on to something.
@OzFlyer There would be Anarchy in Buffalo if Myers were traded to Philly. Rick would start warming his car up now to come down here to protest..... I like the thoughts of it though.
@DAXflyer I have only seen limited time from him. What do you think he'll cost being that his contract is up this year? Is he considered a shut down defender?
@Hexy27 I agree too that this is not our year and should stand pat or clear some cap space for the free agency. There are a few decent UFA's available: http://www.mynhltraderumors.com/2011/11/09/2012-nhl-free-agents-unrestricted-defensemen/ And the RFA's: http://www.mynhltraderumors.com/2011/11/08/2012-nhl-free-agents-restricted-by-team/ I have a feeling like you mentioned that they will make a move that will only set them back.
@jammer2 That is a great summary. I have not seen too much of him to make a fair assessment. I will take your word for it when I hear locals begging for him. By the sounds of things, he is the last thing Philly needs right now.
