  1. Yeah, I think. That combined with I'd rather a different approach and keep as many swings as possible. I don't want to trade either Konecny or Hart, honestly, but if I do i want them to net more swings in terms of picks and prospects, not just move up. If I'm going to use them to move up, though, it would need to be the type of move you're advocating. Not just to #5 (you haven't argued that--or I haven't seen it).
  2. Oh I know. But kudos to you for hanging in there. It's worth the discussion and it's made for interesting back and forth for an evening. Not trying to crap on your parade and definitely not trying to insult you. I just don't think the Ducks are a viable trading partner and don't think it's a good use of assets. I don't have to be right and who knows how this plays out? I'm not trying to devalue Konecny. I just don't think a slightly better RWer than what they have in Terry moves the needle on what is as close to a sure thing as you're going to get when talking about a draft pick prospect. And with a team still licking its wounds over losing out on 1st overall (I would be. They're likely better than me). It's not terrible, OR. I just don't think it gets it done but would also prefer to use the assets in a different way. It's not that I think it's absurd or anything.
  3. Yeah, saw the after my post. Just responded in another. They could use right wing depth, but Terry produces very similarly but without the penalties. I'd take Konecny over Terry but not enough for 2nd overall...a seemingly sure thing
  4. Let me ask you, though. Do you trade the #2 for a deal featuring Konecny? We're praising him because he scored 61 points this year. I realize it was in 60 games, but a word of wisdom: you can't prorate. I don't think the Ducks go from being ripped off of first overall to trading for a right winger with two teaser seasons. Outside of Konecny, which I agree is the best option behind Carter in terms of bait, I don't think it's there. I don't want to trade Hart and picks for a trade up. I want to get assets for him if I'm being forced to move him. Fun to kill an evening talking about though.
  5. I don't do it. And the ducks have Gibson on an albatross contract for 4 more years i don't know what they do with Hart, who is RFA next year I just don't think it makes the slightest bit if sense for either team.
  6. Agreed. Peterson was solely playing the role of Arizona. We swallowed some cap to make the deal happen. Period. If we move Hart, Essen/Sandstrom are the backfills. Peterson will be buried unless he completely (and surprisingly) turns his career around.
  7. If we trade Hart, and end up with 15/47 (random) and end up with 7, 15, 22, 47 (or prospect) I'm good.
  8. I just don't see this as a Howie move, though. I see it as desperation. More a Redskins...er... Commander....er.... Football team ...er... What day is it?....move. If they trade Hart for another first rounder, teens or better, plus a 2nd/good prospect I'd entertain the 7th/22nd for 2nd. With some other sweetener, if necessary. But I'm okay with 7th, 22nd, and what we get from Hart.
  9. They probably would. I'm not doing it, though. I'm going for volume. So keep the two firsts and trade Hart for more. Trade the 7th with an early teen plus a 2nd or a late first and a serious prospect. Next year won't be good so we'll still have a top 10 pick next year.
  10. Yeah, I'm not involving Hart + 1st rounder OR just both first round picks to move up unless it's with Chicago. I'd pause for Anaheim's pick, but I don't think Hart would be involved in that. I'd rather go for volume at this point, so trading back with Buffalo and getting their 13 and their 2nd rounder (#39) if they want to move up.
  11. This is tempting but really not the way I want to go about it. IF we're going to lose Hart, I really hope it's not as a bribe to get rid of Fletcher's trash. I'm okay if one or both is here next year and moved at the deadline. The cap is really of little concern next year and we're not going to be very good either way. If either or both hurt our record it's probably to our benefit. But a competent GM can get them moved at the deadline. If we are going to trade Hart, I want it to be for a backed up Brinks truckfull of assets. At least one first rounder and for this draft. Plus. Plus. There's no pertinent need to trade Hart, so if you don't get a suitable price, you keep your best asset. Again, I completely get the above and it's really tempting, but I guess ultimately I hold the two until I have a more equitable position to deal from. (btw, those here who play fantasy hockey with me are laughing their [tuchuses] off right now)
  12. I didn't realize that. That's a great point. Maybe trade him for a contract you can LTIR? I'm only just awake so I'll probably look at my post later and "WTF?" right along side you.
  13. Love this movie. Just randomly watched it again this weekend. I've seen very few movies as much as I've seen this one. "Better Off Dead" and "Monty Python: The Holy Grail" are the two that quickly come to mind that are as much or more. I've seen "The Sure Thing" a half million times, too, so that's in the neighborhood.
  14. There’s a big difference between mostly dead and all dead. Mostly dead is slightly alive
  15. I don't disagree. Yeah even on the fantasy level he was worth the play until this year. Now not even pipers will play him.
  16. I learned this the hard way. Take some of the early responses with a grain because it was apparently originally reported that it was 1 (or 2 depending on source) second(s) and the goalie and a prospect. I'm *thinking* that's the case here.
  17. This may have changed since you wrote this 1 first, 2 second rounders, a goalie and prospects is not more of the same. More of the same would have been Provorov, a 2nd this year, a third next year and salary retention for Marc Vlasic...whom we'd immediately extend for 4 years.
  18. 1) Literally no one should. Next year is going to be a turd sandwich. I couldn't care less about next year's Cap. Only slightly more about the following year. 2) Yeah. This is going to be a painful excercise, but it's necessary.
  19. The Flyers must just be eating Peterson for the Kings. On the Provorov side, I think he'll still have a pretty good career ahead of him, but he was done in Philly. The fact they got a first and two seconds, I'm okay if they bury Peterson in the minors or if he backs up someone for now. Provorov might fit nicely in Columbus. I mean, Seth Jones did.
  20. A first round pick and two second round picks and some (meh) prospects back is "basically nothing?" Sorry, I view this as a huge win. EDIT: Sorry, I was reading and responding chronologically but wondered even while writing whether details had morphed since you wrote. I saw your later posts that they had. My bad.
  21. Dammit, ya beat me to it! Okay, I'll say he goes to 2026 just for fun. (But i agree with you)
  22. Wanna play over/under on June 2025 being when Cronin is fired by the Ducks?
