The Quigster
The physical game is non-existent,the old get up and go has gotten up and gone since the Bruin's game. Is this because of Lavi? Can't he get these guys fired up? The Devils have gotten interference, holding, tripping, elbows, hooking, and slashing down to a science(NHL version) as far as the officials are concerned(repeated infractions,no calls). Phillygrump
Are you kidding? They have picked up the physical play. Especially against Nashville.

doom88
I think they are hitting more since the Bs game, but clean. No marching to the box!
OH1FlyersFan
They get called any time they play physical. To not play physical is the only way to avoid penalties from the League. It's a joke. I'd be taking heads anyways. Screw them.
Phillygrump
I agree with you. The Broad Street Bully reputation bones the Flyers still today. Its a softer man's NHL and they don't have room for the bullies so they punish the Flyers. Phillygrump
You know, one could say this Flyers team is overachieving. They have a lot of rookies contributing a lot. They are not as good as NY or Boston and they are hanging right there with them. I wouldn't be so hard on the quigly.

The rookies are contributing, but quigly was talking about physical play.

They are overachievers. Pronger is a huge loss. Not just his play but the leadership and accountability he brought to the back side. This youth movement is great to see. 2-3 years we'll have some special players blooming, and that is what this GM should be planning for. Not Ed's penchant for trying to win a Cup every year. Patience wins the race. Development from within.
