I thought Jagr was great this season for the Flyers, but if this is his expectation, I think he has played his last game in Philly.

The 40-year-old appears to want assurances that he will remain on the first line and have an opportunity to get back on the top power play unit.

"The bottom line here is what's done is done. Also, from my point of view at least, those who crow with gleeful negativity in bad times and then disappear when things go well aren't worthy of attention. When all cap-related and reputed locker room issues are put aside, I think the Flyers did fine for themselves from an on-ice hockey standpoint."

I think I can paste this in almost every thread until the new season starts.

Pretty good article. Meltzer is one of the few Philly writers i actually think knows what he's talking about. And Jagr can't be serious about guarantees for top line duty.

Problem for Jagr is I don't know of any team that can PROMISE him the 1st line all year... How could you as a team promise that?

Other than bottom dwellers like Columbus or Islanders, I don't think any team can promise him that. I would be surprised if he is back.
