touche22 Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 Jesus, At this rate, is it safe to say G is playing himself off of team Canada? Man, that would be a bummer. Feel free to speculate. Thats all thats left for us. Quote
pilldoc Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 and you know what ...that would not be a bad thing either. (you know reverse psychology). Seriously, leaving him off the Olympic team would be a good thing. Being left off would hopefully kick in him gonads and he would want to go out and prove to everyone that he should be on the team and therefore he would pick up his game. 1 Quote

murraycraven Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 I would say absolutely. The best player in your team should not be the worst on the ice. 1 Quote

Remember how there was a lot of talk about Richards being left off Team Canada in 2010. He made the team and the rest is history. He won gold and came back and led the Flyers into the playoffs and on to the Finals. Being able to play with highly skilled players for a couple weeks and have a chance to win gold can do a lot for a players confidence. The only good thing I could see with Giroux not being selected is that he doesn't have a chance to get injured. Quote
