Rumors, Tierney + Boedker + Martin on the block. Heed looking great

Lots of rumors in Sharkland these days.

Potentially on the trade block are the 3 guys listed.

Boedker is a speedy PP specialist on a team that does not fit his style at all. Not opposed to moving him at all.

Tierney is rotating between 3rd and 4th line C and doing well on the PK. Hertl moving from 3rd line C to Couture's line on wing occasionally has Tierney moving up and down on bottom 6. Carpenter doing ok as 4th line C. I'd rather keep Tierney and leave Hertl in the top 6.

Martin coming off IR soon. But Joakim Ryan looking great beside Burns on the left side. The pairing of Vlasic/Braun remains untouched. Dillon + Heed has been pleasant.

Speaking of Heed....

Starting to love him. Playing top unit PP with 2 Right handed Dmen struck me as odd. But the results have been good so far. At worst he drops to 2nd PP unit. Has good lateral movement to open lanes and a cannon of a shot

Heed was basically the Brent Burns of the AHL team last year according to the coach. Both roaming offensive Dmen who tilt the ice. Heed had 14 goals and 56 points in 55 AHL games and is looking right at home with the big boys.

I was gonna ask if this Tim Heed is the Sharks' Sergachev this year....but he is no kid!

He is already 26 going on 27 soon.

Looking at his basic numbers.... the lone stint in the AHL last year, great.... but his Swedish league numbers seem ok to good.

I know he has been good so far for San Jose given his short time with the team this year, but is it sustainable?

Late bloomer would be the description I would give him if he can.....but his numbers prior to coming to North America suggest he may not be any more than a middling type producer.

Even a 40 point dman for the 2nd pp unit would be welcome.

Traditionally we have 1 offensive D and 5 stay at home guys.

But I like his puck moving and wheels and lateral movement a lot. He has been taking lessons from Burnsy

I drafted Heed in the 6th round of my keeper and am quite pride indeed of that. Good to know he's looking good in what I take to be fairly limited and protected minutes.
