We will probably watch parts of the game though. The Wild are going to scratch Eriksson Ek for Brown; and have Fehr take back the 4th line center spot. The Stars have been a pretty erratic team this season; and the scary part is many of their top players are underperforming by their standards...but they do have the potential to do a lot more. Shutting down the Stars top line has to be the top priority because secondary scoring is an issue for Dallas. For the Wild, any kind of scoring has been an issue the last few games. The first goal will be important for confidence and momentum. Enjoy and discuss!
Tomdog
Great pregame write up from my point of view. It sums up my view entirely.

rottenrefs
The Wild desperately need to control center ice and keep things simple... Take the shot when they're there and stop making those extra passes.
rottenrefs
Good little rush and pressure there!
rottenrefs
4 minutes in and the Wild are moving well to the puck. Passes are flowing well so far and they're getting chances, making chances and shooting.
rottenrefs
Dallas are playing with their elbows high. Kunin took a forearm to the mug. Peel is blind as a bat. Nothing new there. The Wild need to keep the pressure on and not let Peel into the game.
Tomdog
I guess the pregame line combinations were a little off.

Tomdog
I always have to laugh, benn cheapshot trips Nino and then shakes his head when he gets called for it.
rottenrefs
PP not too bad. They got some chances but (halfway) tried being a bit too cute. Controlled the puck well but not much pressure inside.

rottenrefs
Wild PK - Seeler called for cross checking. I'm surprised Nick didn't beat the sh!t out of him for running him into the boards... twice.

rottenrefs
Wild controlled the first 13 minutes with some decent pressure, then Dallas got their first good scoring chance with about 7:46 remaining. Spent a lot of time on the Stars end of the ice. The last 5 minutes of the period Dallas held it more in our end (2 PP's in their favor.)
rottenrefs
Wild go on the PP (?) Parise caught a stick up high. Then the refs reversed it. No penalty.

rottenrefs
Note to Coyle: Don't cross the blue line with the puck then drop it back (across the blue line) for a teammate. Dumbass. Wake up!

rottenrefs
Dallas is looking discombobulated so far to this point of the game and the Wild aren't doing enough to take advantage of it. Coyle isn't checking when he has the chance. Frikking sissy. He's had prime opportunities and backs off worse than chicken Koivu does.
rottenrefs
Parise getting roughed up and mugged big time by 4 Dallas players. On his back getting piled on and elbowed. Refs were apparently loving it.
