yave1964
Matt Murray was dealt from the Penguins after five years and two cups, shipped to the Senators for a pick and a prospect. “We would like to thank Matt for everything he’s done in his five seasons with the Penguins,” said Penguins GM Jim Rutherford. “He was instrumental to our back-to-back Stanley Cup Championships, and we wish him the best.” The pick was number 52, the Pens just drafted solid goalie prospect Joel Blomqvist with the pick, the prospect was Jonathan Gruden who went to Miami of Ohio before playing in the OHL this past year, his star is not shining bright. Murray according to many people is looking for a big payday, his initial ask from the Pens was 8 million a year which almost certainly forced the trade as he has lost a large share of the net to Tristan Jarry and frankly, Murray has slipped in recent years do to injury. Good add for Ottawa, good but not great, certainly better than the arson squad of Anderson/Hogberg/Nilsson who have been in net lately, if he is signed at a reasonable deal it could be even better.

pilldoc
Ottawa definitely needed goalie help especially considering they were not going to resign Anderson. Very good add for them...

Puck_Pun
The next day he was signed to a four year contract, total value $25m. They're still below the floor, though
