  1. In your opinion, who is the most overrated player in the league? What is the most overrated team?

For me, Zdeno Chara has to be the most overrated player in the league. He's been on the back end of his career for the last 3 years, he doesn't match up well against the new speedy NHL, he is one of the dirtiest players in the league, yet everyone loves him because he can shoot the puck faster than anyone else in the game. He's too one dimensional.

As for a team, the New York Rangers are not as great as everyone seems to believe. Last year, they were so bad offensively that Lundquvist had to backpack the team into the playoffs and then into the second round. I'm not sure if there's another team in the league that has as many underachievers as the Rangers. Nash and Richards don't even look like they care for the majority of the games, yet the league and broadcasters fall in love with them every year because they have an underdog aspect because of how poorly they play offensively.

    What say you internet?

    Montreal Canadiens

    Carey Price

  2. Easy, just a joke at the Leafs expense.

The Caps used to be cheap, but now I only go if friends have cheap tickets, or the Flyers are in town. I'm only 90 min from Philly now, so I might make a few extra trips up.

@ok n/p. I can handle that. Last time we went we ran into Johnny Bower.......

  3. @Leach27  I watched Mitchell play his junior for Plymouth, a division rival of the Spits. He's kind of a mid range plugger type. Works hard, but is just an average skater, height and weight are also average 6'1 and 204lbs. He played 4 years for the Leafs as a bottom six guy.  He's ok, but I think our own players would do just as well, or better. The Flyers always seem to get scammed when they are doing an obvious salary dump, Gagne for Walker comes to mind, geez.

I'd prefer to take a second rounder and call it a day. If the Ave's suck, it would be like a really late first rounder perhaps. Maybe we sweeten the pot and include Mez, the Flyers second and a prospect and outright flip 1st rounders with the Ave's? I'd be real interested in that type of a deal!

What if the Flyers were interested in Downie, you think the avs would part with him?? His cap hit though is $2.65 million.

  4. We're stuck with what we have, but I don't believe anyone would say that signing Bryzgalov over, say, Vokoun was "money well spent."

I don't believe that anyone would say keeping Bryzgalov and dealing Bobrovky was "money well spent."

We're stuck in the boat that Homer launched. There is no "great big fix" that is out there or available rightnow. That's what happens when your GM makes the worst decision in the history of hockey.

Good post! The Flyers need to change the way they do things in regards to goalies, we signed emery because management knew him and liked him when he was here before. Mason is one of guys they needed a second chance somewhere and The Flyers like giving players that second chance. We should have gave Bob more time, very sad for sure.
