  1. The groin, er, "bone" is connected to the calf bone etc, etc
  2. Duh, everybody knows that "4" follows "3" - have you been hanging out with Special K or what? jk
  3. I thought that he did just that yesterday. For awhile at least. Once Jagr left the game it was all a bit chaotic. Couldn't believe he had JVR out there on the PP in the 3rd though. Nuts.
  4. Agreed. Almost all those guys will go before Domi, with Jones, Barkov and Monohan ranked highest IMO Too bad Jones got hurt before the WJCs - he may have helped that pathetic American squad. It would have been interesting to see how the big man performed against older, elite competition. I'm biased as I have him and Barkov on my keeper team already and would have had Monohan too if my grass wasn't mowed by the GM picking just before me (took Maatta instead)
  5. Yeah the PS call was not by the letter of the law. Although, I can see why a ref might call it from a particular vantage point. McDonough did use his glove/arm and ass to stop the puck from going in the net, after all. But he didn't freeze it or really have his glove on it for any lenth of time, so he should be able to get away with it under current rules, strictly applied. EDIT: Torts should get fined for the comments. He's suggesting collusion, after all. Hell, it's prolly libelous.

    Canada vs USA Game #4

I've said it before and will say it again, he has Datsyuk-like offensive upside (because he has Datsyuk like skills), which are still developing, of course while he plays all situations. He may be better than Datsyuk defensively, and works his butt off. Plenty of evidence of that last night on the backcheck. He also is in impressive physical condition. Last night he took a very long shift (only 'cause he was trapped in his end due to giveway by others), but was right out there less than a minute later doing all the little things, winning faceoffs and killing penalties. No points and evens on the score sheet, but a big role in the win nonetheless IMO. Ok, I've gushed enuff. I wish he was a Flyer, what can I say. Go Canada!

    Canada vs USA Game #4

Brilliant. It was qute the part atmosphere in the Phone Booth last night. Wish I was there for it. I hope you realize how fortunate you were to see Burmistrov play as a Jr, 'cause he is something special. I absolutely love his game.

    Canada vs USA Game #4

Me too. So much so that I stopped watching and switched to the Jets game and then forgot to go back. Very impressed by our "no-name" D corps, especially Gormley and Harrington. They just get the job done with little fanfare. Wedgewood looks good and gives me hope that we can reverse last year's failure. Happy New Year to you, @jammer2 and all Flyer fans.
  9. True. Not the same kind of tears that watching Bryzgalov induces, but tears all the same.
  10. Just realized Podein is playing in the Alumni Game! w00t! Link to Coatesy's interview with him: http://www.flyersfan...rsFanCentral%29 Another with Pierre Lebrun: http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=7405410

    Hey blocker

Yeah, but his French is crap.
  12. Good point @SoCalFlyfan Maybe they aren't even shooting pucks at net in practice and that's why Bryz sucks donkey's balls?
  13. Yeah, but he's European. They are different.
  14. Personally, I'm sick of the Swiss
  15. For some reason I do care. Until he gets his game in shape I want him to just shut up
  16. @DaGreatGazoo - yes, better, but sadder.
  17. Yup. Every single goalie I played with was strange, but they were strange because they spent so much time obsessing about stopping pucks and all the rituals and stuff that go with that. They were focused and intense individuals. Bryz is just a flake as far as I can tell.
  18. Good to hear from you too @Howie58. Vineland, NJ eh? I wonder if the Thomas Pynchon novel by the same name has anything to do with that? He was from the area I think (Long Island actually, so never mind). Yeah, the Panthers are interesting story. An entire team of overpaid) castoffs and a former Vezina/Hart winner in goal. I heard the rats were back. Is that true?
  19. @Howie58 - agreed. Howe's Howie doing? South Florida and the Merlots being kind to you?
  20. Sorry man @flyercanuck, just havin' some fun at your expense. Has it really been that long? Good lord
  21. Fair enough @canoli When I say shut up I mean in the same way that people (and when I say people I mean posters like, ahem, @flyercanuck) have shut up about Briere: 'cause he produces in the playoffs. But I see what you are saying. Patience is called for.
  22. @radoran I totally (like, totally) see your point and understand it. It's a shame that the narrative around the Flyer goalie history is so overwhelming that a team has to go out and do that to appease it. And ironic that it actually fans the flames of those demons in the end, so that we will perpetually be looking for that savior and making the same mistake again and again. ******* sad man. Wow, cool window just opened up asking me if I wanted to see the latest post. Nice work @Digityman!
  23. \I'm hard pressed to disagree with much that @canoli
  24. It's too son to come to this conclusion, and not only because it typically takes big guys longer to develop. Also too soon. Patience is required with both of these guys. I'd like to see them both on the same team in a playoff series before I come to an conclusion on either of them. JVR was our best, most consistent, at times dominant, player last year in the playoffs. Let's at least see if he can do it again. If he can, we will all shut up about him, I guarantee it. As for Voracek, he;s played all of 4 games of playoff hockey as a pro. I'd like to see him over a couple of rounds before I pass judgement on him. /rant
