  1. Hart has no value. Nobody will touch him even if he's find not guilty. Teams will look at him as a weak character guy and someone who can't make good decisions. He's going to have to go Russia or some place like that to rehabilitate his career.
  2. I'm hopeful that Fedotov makes an impact when he comes over. The flyers desperately need a goalie to step up. Ever since Ersson was named starter, in his 21 games, he's gone 9-8-4 with a .880 save percentage. I know I harp a lot about Ersson, but this was his chance to really grab the reins and run with the number one role and he dropped the ball. And I don't need to hear "he's a rookie" type stuff. He's going to be 25 in five months. He's played in 102 professional games and counting on North America. He's played professionally in Sweden. He's not a rookie anymore. Hopefully Fedotov can push Ersson to get to the next level. Hopefully Ersson pushes Fedotov. Steel sharpens steel.
  3. The Score did mention that he is on his way over to North America. The more goaltenders available, the better.
  4. He'll replace Clarke and Holmgren as a senior advisor. You can already see the finger prints of what Briere is doing. As for the rebuild/winning games/losing games/blaming players and coaches conundrum, I look at it like this. There's more than enough talent on this roster to be competitive. And I speak for myself here, but that's what I want to see - a competitive team. What aggravates me is that this is also supposed to be a development year. And while some players are doing well in the development curve, some aren't. And those who aren't, are being 'graded' to those who are. You can't do that. Everyone has different strengths and weaknesses. But that's not being addressed. Instead, they're all being developed in the same manner and when guys don't hit, that's when things go sidewards. On top of that, some guys are getting a pass. I've been vocal about how poor Ersson has been. Mr .898 is getting a pass because "Carter Hart". No, that nonsense needs to end. Sam Ersson is a professional hockey player. Is it too much to ask him to make a save every now and then? And it's just not here that his play was like that. It was also the same in Lehigh Valley. He needs to decide whether he wants to be mediocre or good. And right now, because everyone on the team loves Sam, they aren't pushing him. Yet, a guy like Brink or Lyksell (I know, different positions) are reamed out when they miss an assignment defensively. It's about playing favourites and it's garbage coaching. I've said I could care less if they make or miss the playoffs. Doesn't matter to me. But I want to see consistency across the board from players and coaching and that still isn't happening. That's my biggest gripe right now.
  5. Sam Ersson is not a number one goalie. He needs to go back into a backup role next year.
  6. I like the idea of Kolosov coming over, even if he's getting acclimated to life in North America. That's a win. A HUGE win. Look, I get that everyone is excited about the Flyers being in the playoff hunt. It wasn't expected. And that's the thing - it wasn't expected. So, even if the club doesn't make the playoffs, at the very least, there's a lot to look forward to next year. Don't forget that there are still cap issues that need to be addressed and bodies that will need to be moved out. There's lots of work left to do in terms of the rebuild. Continue working on the cap and getting that under control. Move on from players that don't fit into the Flyers timeline of contention. Continue working young players into the lineup. I'd love to see the defense even younger, but the Flyers are probably stuck with Ristolainen and we all know that Tortorella LOVES the try-hard-do-nothing Nick Seeler, so the defense might remain the same. But yeah, I'm keeping Kolosov away from the Flyers. Let him dominate the AHL. He'll be ready to compete for the big club in 2025. By then, there should be more salary cleared and more young players coming to the club.
  7. And yet another reason why Ian Laperriere should be **** canned...
  8. I haven't heard anything about Kaplan, so I'm guessing he'll probably be back in school. As for Barkey, he's played both left wing and center this year. Honestly, he's going to be one of those versatile forwards who can probably play all positions and not look out of place. My hope is that when he gets to Philadelphia, he plays where ever he's needed. I don't see a lot of left wingers available where the Flyers pick, so hopefully if they do draft one, it's Chernyshov from Russia. I'm also interested in Matvei Gridin from Muskegon of the USHL. He's going to Michigan in the fall, but there's some good size and goal scoring there. I get he's a right winger with a left shot, but it shouldn't be hard to transition him to the left wing.
  9. Devin Kaplan might end up being one of those players that's a better pro than he was a college player. I love the Carter Sotheran pick more and more. Hopefully he gets an expanded offensive role next year in junior and then after that the Flyers don't do the typical Flyers thing and pigeon hole him into a role and not expand on his skill set.
  10. I don't care if they make or don't make the playoffs. If they didn't make the playoffs, it's a higher first round pick that can be used to acquire or draft a young center. If they make the playoffs, it's going to be an eye opener for some of these younger players. Either way, I look at it as a win/win for the franchise.
  11. Not adding a second viable goalie will be the nail in the coffin for this club. I don't think they'll play Ersson 10 games in a row and Washington is red hot. Once again, not the end of the world if the team doesn't make the playoffs, but this will be something that will have to be addressed in the offseason.
  12. Sanheim with goal number 9 and point number 40 on the season. Does he hit 50 this year?
  13. Was going to say the exact same thing. This falls 100% on Tortorella for not managing Couturier's ice time. Tortorella played him hard from the get go in order to try to 'win' and secure a playoff spot. The house of cards is beginning to fall apart. Tortorella needs to own this one. I'm wondering if Couturier asks to be moved after the season is over.......
  14. I was initially upset about the Johnson trade, but I look at things like this. There's going to be trades at the draft and it won't surprise me if the Flyers love someone and get that 4th back. No harm, no foul. I just hate that it was Erik Johnson they acquired.
  15. Exactly. Not only was it entertaining, but the new core is going to be ok. There are five legit wingers on the club. There's even one in Foerster playing on his off wing. Imagine how much better he'd be if he were on his proper wing and even then, he looks like he's going to be legit left winger and he's gonna score some big goals. Cam York is an absolute beast on the blueline. You can see that it's coming together and he's looking like he's going to be a top two, possible number one defensemen on this club. He's looked legit. Definite fun year to watch player development.
  16. I'm not worried about Barkey and his weight. The kid is a gym rat and is in there all the time. The weight will come.
  17. I'm at the point where if they miss the playoffs, it's not the end of the world. To me, it's that they came oh so close, it's going to make guys upset and they're going to come out hard all the time next year. At the same time, it's going to open everyone's eyes within the organization that they aren't ready to buy yet and that they're going to need to continue to build through the draft and trades. Stay the course. The rebuild isn't complete. They took a big step this year, but there's still a lot of work to do.
  18. Yep. Overachieving is a part of development. The thing is, do any of the prospects and young players have transferrable skills that they can carry to the NHL with them? And if they do, can they be developed? I think if the younger players bypass Lehigh Valley and if Shaw and Tortorella work with them, they'll be ok. Lehigh Valley is the problem and any GM with a brain can see that. I hope that Laperriere is relieved of duties this summer and someone from junior hockey with a proven development track record is brought in to correct what's going on there. Will it happen? I don't know, but I think with how the team has cratered in the 2nd half, I can't believe that Laperriere isn't feeling any sort of heat.
  19. The two horses I can think of down there are Tuomaala and Andrae. Both have kind of hit a wall, but they're going to be good. Both need competent players around them though and the Flyers have failed both from that standpoint. With that being said, Tuomaala's rookie season reminds me of Foerster's first season and Andrae needs a guy like Shaw to help him refine his defensive game. He's a work in progress, but you can see the talent and ability there. If the defensive side gets addressed, it's very possible that the Flyers might have a better skating Timonen style defender on their hands. York - Drysdale - Andrae - Bonk has the potential to be a REALLY good top four unit in the league. And I'll give the devil his due - Tortorella has a thing for developing defensemen, especially when Shaw can find and refine the flaws.
  20. Watch the Flyers catch lightning in a bottle and Gurianov becomes the second coming of John LeClair.
  21. I said there were better defenders available. I'm not looking for the best move either because they aren't there yet, not even close. But Johnson is disappointing. He's done. He only plays the way he does because he can't do anything else of value. And what's scary is that if this club makes the playoffs, it's very possible that he, Ristolainen, and Seeler will all play big minutes because "playoff hockey" and "grind". What's even sadder is that someone like Attard, who should be given a chance to run with it because he actually played rather well in Lehigh Valley, is going to have to sit and watch this play out. That's what really bugs me about this move. I think Attard showed the other night he can play. I've been meh on him, but he looked really solid against Florida. Honestly, he looked a bit like Dan McGillis his first year here. But, that's just me though.
  22. Attard should play significant minutes down the stretch. His size, physicality and shot are a welcome addition. He can also run a power play. I'm just shaking my head over Erik Johnson though. He's cooked. There were better options available for the price that was paid for Johnson. If he plays big minutes, this club is in huge trouble.
  23. The only thing I hope coming from this deadline is that Gurianov and Johansen go to Lehigh Valley and help get Tuomaala back on track. Tuomaala needs to play with legit guys and those two should help him out of his funk. As for the rest of the deals, I have no problem with the Walker trade, Seeler and Johnson were basically to appease the coach so that he doesn't have to play young players on defense down the stretch and I'm ****** glad they didn't make any deal for Chychrun. Still lots of work to do this off season though. Briere really needs to look at balancing out the wings and the team NEEDS a legit top center (I'm good with Frost bring the 2nd, Couturier being the 3rd and Poehling the 4th). Surprised they didn't try to acquire a goalie though. They're going to run Ersson hard down the stretch it seems.
  24. I think Conroy was right in not trading him. Summer is the best time for that. Let Markstrom carry the Flames for the rest of the season and then Wait for teams to get their cap space in check and then make the desk when they can get the most. The big thing to getting any deal done though is going to be Maloney and that **** ****** is going to handcuff Conroy and Markstrom, regardless.
  25. With Johansen going to Lehigh Valley, that should hopefully get Tuomaala back on track and scoring again. However, something tells me Puckhead won't think about that.
