  1. I came over from philly.com aswell, and as some of you know I mainly do first class lurking and occasionally pop in with a thought. But I'm here every day, and wanted to chime in and express how happy I am for the endurance and longevity of this forum. Knowledgeable posters, absurd humor, and seriously the best forum i've ever been a part of. So thank you all for that.
  2. I find it so difficult, being completely biased towards the Flyers, to really figure out whether a total rebuild is necessary. When I look at these players: Konecny, Coots, Farabee, Tippet, Cates, (Laughton), Brink, Foerster, even Frost I keep thinking this is a legit core group of guys. With Gauthier and Michkov hopefully being elite and above the rest, then we are talking. I dont know if I'm over evaluating all these names, but I hope im not. But again this is where the doubt creeps in due to severe biasness... For me, the real doubt, and what the rebuild process for me constitutes is on the blue line, not at forward or at goal. At forward I feel we are several steps already into the rebuild phase, but the D is several steps behind...and those two groups need to be aligned. This new Sanheim can possibly fastrack it, along with York gaining more experience. Andrae is still a question mark, and Zamula will probably end up as a serviceable reliable 5-6 (which is fine). But we need to completely focus on the D if we want to have a chance to utilize/exploit the good work done at forward. Am I totally off thinking we dont need a rebuild/tear it down at foward? Again a top nine of Konecny, Farabee, Tippet, Brink, Foerster, Cates, Coots, Gauthier, Michkov and even Laughton/Frost is pretty darn good no?
  3. Perfect timing for buying low
  4. Seems to me like the Pinto for Frost deal might be happening.
  5. Unless you are planning on watching every game, then please just stop now. We need a high draft pick
  6. Closest thing I found is this article referencing his dominant play in the playoffs where he was the Flyers' best player. What on earth happened to him?? https://bleacherreport.com/articles/825259-philadelphia-flyers-james-van-riemsdyk-ready-to-be-a-superstar
  7. Still not as good as Mike Richards'. That was truly special. Speaking about "The Shift", I'm trying to find a link to JVR's shift. Cup run in '10 against Bruins. He played like a possessed man, physically dominating and agressive. Never seen anything like that from him since unfortunately. But if anyone has a link to that, please post it.
  8. 7 points in 7 games with Sochi. Looking good. Although, somebody please explain the KHL for me. Everyone (including my self) is raving about his 9 goals and 20 points in 27 games last season. But Riley Barber and Jordan Weak are topping the KHL stats with 16-18 points in 12 games....even Ryan spooner is a point pr. Game player over there. Shouldn't Michkov be better (offensively) than them?
  9. Interesting. I thought Frost was one of the worst on the team. Lacked complete confidence...to me it seemed like the puck bobbled too much on his stick, didn't have the proper weight on his passes. Hope its just me seeing things wrong.
  10. Totally disagree! I find that if a girl is in the 7-8 range, it only takes a slight buzz to pull her up into a 9-10. For 5-6, it requires a bit more work but is definitely doable...for me it's about 3 gin tonics, 5 beers and 3 shots (not tequila)...that'll do it. Anything under 5-6 range, it's still possible to pull them up to a perceived 9-10 range, but that requires close to passing out level, which means there is that sweet spot of around 10min before passing out, where the magic happens and you look at the girl and you are totally convinced that she's a 10.
  11. Michkov loaned out to sochi. Very good outcome.
  12. True. But there are other sides of development. I'm sure he is getting tested on the mental side, learning to cope and do what the coach says and hopefully be a good team player/person even from the outside looking in.
  13. The way I see it is the Flyers swapped one major issue for another. Michkov as a prospect is less of a risk when it comes to player development and becoming a top NHL'er compared to most other prospects. Our record of developing high end prospects is not good. Instead we swapped that problem for one of a political nature. 3 years is a long time. I'm still good on the choice, especially at 7 where the other option was Leonard. Leonard is not going to be a game changer, michkov most likely will be. For me it's worth the risk.
  14. I'm not sure the Flyers are the right team to develop projects...
  15. So how would the feeling be if Briere goes Demidov in 24? That means we would be waiting for two hot shot Russians to come. Probably too big a risk for Briere, especially with a draft heavy on quality D-men.
  16. Could he maybe want completely out of the NHL and look towards lucrative money in KHL?
  17. Apparently he cleared waivers. Insane nobody claimed him.
  18. How does the waiver system work? So let's say the Sens, Flyers, and Blues all make a claim for Zadina. Who get's him? Is it just whoever puts in the claim first, or is it the lowest ranked club in a given season?
  19. What happened to this kid? 6th overall in 18. Surely someone will claim him and give him a chance (change of scenery).
  20. Ciernik could be a steal! He was slated to go in the 2nd round by many.
  21. Bedard and Moore. Hawks make me sick. How on earth can they luck out, where they pick up these two guys right after Kane/Toews era??
  22. but then again 2 RW in the 1st round would probably not be the smartest. So Gauthier is probably not the pick.
  23. Perreault is dropping. Crazy if he falls to 22. Otherwise Gauthier would be a nice pick there.
  24. call Washington and fleece them for swapping picks, let them take michkov and we pick leanoard plus whatever we get from Washington
