  1. Right now this team has far to many holes to really make run at it this year. I still believe they will make the playoffs but won't do much after that. They are really in need of an offensive defence man. Their break outs have been terrible this season. That first pass out of the zone makes such difference. It's hard to tell with the forwards because they haven't been healthy yet this season. But they do need a true face off specialist. The one person that I would look at moving is Briere. I like Briere but I think the time is right to move him. I think you could get good return at the deadline. He has a high cap hit but not much money left owing. I do believe he had front loaded deal. Honestly the one thing I would be looking at is getting a young goalie. I would love one of Ottawa's young guys. Either Bishop or lehner. Watched them both play and they both look pretty solid. Who knows what will happen with Bryz in the future but they have to have some sort of back up plan. I'm one of biggest glass is half full type of Flyers fan. But this season I just have to look at things realistically. Although injuries and their schedule hasn't help matters.
  2. Webber has already asked for it. Apparently the Predators are listening. That's all I know. The ownership group has said they want a no trade clause.
  3. Actually they can add a no trade clause. The only thing that is set in stone is the term and the money. They had Craig Button on TSN the other night and he said you add things afterward.
  4. All the no trade does is let him dictate where he would like to be traded. Just like Nash. There is no doubt in my mind that Webber wanted to come to the Flyer's. When your agent says in an interview after the Predators matched that they really didn't think the Preds would match the way they structured the contract speaks volumes. I say 3-4 years he's playing somewhere else.
  5. Well he does live in Kelowna which is Canadian California. That's what I like to call it. I went to college in California and reminds me a lot of where I lived down there. I go there once a month. It's pretty sweet place to live. Ya it was a bit odd that you have this big press conference in front of your fans but don't have the main reason your there in attendance. i watched the Preds conference and it was pretty staged. Basically rallying the fans before they hammer a huge increase in ticket prices on their fans. Webber really has some back tracking to do. His agents made some pretty interesting comments during this whole process. I bet is he is out of Nashville within 3 years.
  6. Interesting that the Predators had a press conference to today and no Shea Webber. I just think that's odd. I really believe that Shea is pissed off they matched. What I really find interesting is that the Preds didn't even contact him over the past week. From his agents comments they sure felt that the Preds weren't going to match and that's how they wanted it. Atleast Homer did something he hasn't done in the past and that's not trade the kids. This team is still really exciting and young. There only going to get better.
  7. Just saw it on twitter. Had to look twice. Wow didn't think they would do it. Still think the Preds match it.
  8. Iginla and Flames have actually been working on an extension. So I don't think he's going anywhere.
  9. I'm pretty sure it came out a couple of weeks ago that Schultz will not be signing with the Ducks and will become a free agent. There's 29 other teams just waiting to sign this kid.
  10. They were talking on TSN the other night that among the players in the league they feel Suter is harder to play against than Webber. Extremely hard to knock off the puck. My pick is he ends up in Detroit. They have the money and the cap space.
  11. So far today it's been tweeted that Grossman will go under the knife on his knee. Timmo suffered a knee injury in game 5 of the Penguins series. I'm pretty sure Hartnell has a foot injury after blocking a shot in game 1. They showed JVR last night walking into the building with a noticable limp and a sandle on one foot. When your wearing a regular shoe on one foot and a sandle on the other, kind of tells me his foot is to swollen to get into a regular shoe. I think there will be a few guys going under the knife this summer.
  12. The Devil's made them out of sink. The trap they played is incredilbly tough especially when half your team is rookies. This had nothing to do with Lavy. I think the guys really like Lavy. There was just nothing left.
  13. I kind of expected a down turn in the Flyer's season with all the rookies but it happened later then I expected. They hit a wall. I knew the Flyer's were going have a tough time with the Devil's after watching most of the Florida series. I knew the Flyer's kids were going to have trouble with the trap. I think it will come out in the next couple days the amount of injuries a few Flyer's played with. I'm pretty sure Hartnell,Simmons, Briere and Giroux all are pretty banged up. All I can say is the future looks pretty bright with all the kids. Now if we had Pronger back and a goalie that didn't give up every time someone makes a mistake in front of him things would look really good.
  14. Check out the first goal. Look where Briere is on that one. It was almost as bad. It looked like the whole Flyer team was skating in sand last night. I think they really got over confident and thought it would be cake walk. The worst thing to happen last night was for them to score early. They checked out after that.
  15. Besides the Rangers I think Ottawa would give the Flyers there toughest test. They have played the Flyers pretty tough this year.
  16. If I had a full out hockey rink in my basement like Chad Kroeger has in his house I'd sell out to. Dude has a pretty sweet pad Vancouver.
  17. Bob McKenzie ‏ @TSNBobMcKenzie Arron Asham waived right to in-person hearing. It'll be done by phone at 5 p.m. ET. League has option of suspending 6 or more if it chooses.
  18. They were talking about playing soccer before the games. When they said the Flyer's weren't that good and needed more Euro's.
  19. Hartnell added a new shirt to his Hartnell down. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ErdU5q36WMA&context=C4819cf7ADvjVQa1PpcFNxakIJN8oUbRBoz9ubnZvm0PppLeia5xs=
  20. From my experience I knew when I had an opposing player in a bad position. I looked for those type of hits when I was younger. I'm telling you Kronwall KNEW he was going to get him in the head. You can see right before impact he's looking right at his head. As quick as it happens you DO have an opportunity to pull back. Vorachek did put himself in a bad position but there is some onus on the Kronwall was well. I have no problem with the hit. It's not answering the bell afterwards that I have a problem with. If you are going to do those constantly you have to be ready to drop the gloves once and while. Down the road I can so see a Domi, Ulf Samulson incident with Kronwall.
  21. The problem is guys unless TSN or Sports Net up here make a big deal about the hit nothing will happen. The one thing I've learned from watching Detroit play is they get away with a lot of crap on the ice. I remember one of the teams in the playoffs last year really complaining about it. Now that I have watched them a few times lately I totally see it.
  22. I'm pretty sure Bryz is the reason I didn't win the 50/50 draw last night. I have to blame somebody.
  23. Best part of the whole night was during warm up this guy had a sign, it was a full size Flyer ice girl with a Husky face on her body with caption "my husky is like a hot girl". When Bryz came out he saw it and started shaking his head. I think he might of had a little grin going. Couple of the Flyers got a kick out of it.
  24. The one thing I notice last night is after Bryz would make a good save the guys on the ice would come by and give him a tap on the pads. Kind of like showing support. You don't see guys doing that often. But I noticed it quite a few times last night. Even after the Eberle goal. Couple of the guys came by and gave him a tap on the pads. I think the guys know they have get him going. The one guy that looked terrible last night was Coburne. He was a give away machine. The two goals were direct results of give aways by Coburne. He struggled the whole game. The Flyers just plain didn't battle last night. They lost almost every battle along the boards. Which they shouldn"t given the Oilers size. All I can say is Lavy was fired up after the game.
