Wow people are really angry what a difference in opinions just within a week or two from when they were winning. Guys hate to break it to you but were going to half to ride it out. We are not going to be able to trade away for defense... We just got to keep on heading forwards take our lumps and keep rebuilding through the draft...Guys the Flyers are finally doing it right don't screw it up now with arm chair gm panic moves. Just like any team that is still not ready for cup contention and are still drafting to fill pieces that they need...there not going to be the blackhawks or pens yet guys...doing all these panic trades has put us in this position, could you imagine if we had this mentality of letting it ride years ago... I am not talking about the RIchards, Carter but everything else. God I wish we had JVR still on the team...Wish we got Carlson instead of Eminger....

Who would you get ride of???

All do respect fanatic what more veteran presence do you need? We have Timo, Grossman, Coburn is up there now, VL, Streit, Hartnell....we have enough vets already. This team is going to take its lumps they are still a growing team...I say we need more youth on defense...I would like the see the Flyers get some young run and gun kids on the defensive side because it is very slow right now. Better shooting from the point and better outlet passing.

This may seem stupid... but how is this proposal to at least eliminate the shootout "which we well at least most of us do not like" but not the three point games. I was thinking about if the league had two five minute OTs. Let's say if the game only goes to one OT the winning team gets two points and the loser gets a goose egg. Now lets say if it goes into double OT the winning team gets two points and the loser only gets 1 pt. Now if it is a tie in at the end of the second OT both teams get a point each. I know it doesn't get rid of the 3pt system but at least some fat ass like me can't get called up because he's a beast at shootouts and maybe will make teams want to win more because they do not want to wear themselves out playing an extra ten minutes every other night...

@Jmdodgesrt4 Huh...? How would we go about getting those players? Also last time I checked Kane was not a power forward...so what is your point there? How would Hartnell be mentioned in the same sentence "no disrespect to hartnell" with those guys. Also what is with the "you people need to learn" what has Hartnell done against those teams? Wasn't there the possibility that when Vinny L got healthy that Hartsy was going demoted to the 4th line... How would he help us there?

That would be an awesome pick up. He has had injury problems in the past and this season though hasn't he? Would that bring his value down some?

Guys this is a team in rebuild mode..... They are going to be like this for the rest of the season and maybe more after that. I think Homer finally knows he has to build through the draft. That is why he has not made any trades. We got a good crop of young dmen in the minors that will be ready in a few years and with Laughton looking great, if we can keep our draft picks and not trade them we can get more depth at forward which we so badly need. If we are looking like we will not make the playoffs I say trade guys like Timo, Streit "if we can", Mez etc... for draft pics and really rebuid this team in the draft and not buy from the FA pool like we always do. If we would of done this from the start we would not be a roller coaster team. Plus its is still early and we are I think in 8th place in the conference??? So guys please be patient.

What do they do with B. Schenn because we know Vinny L is a stop gap so we have Giroux, Coots, Schenn or Laughton up the middle in the near future.... Trade Schenn for a winger or try to convert schenn to the wing instead.

Thanks for the kind words flyercanuck yeah they both went this morning. They were actually my pets not people but they were family, best friends I am sure you guys know what I am talking about. Two cats that we put down one I had for 18 years and the other 13 years. They both were sick and had them go out together in style. You really grow attached to your pets cats, dogs w/e you have you know....there family.

Hey AMMOnation those two forum members in jammer and Flyercanuck have been on these forums for long long time. They are probably two of the best posters as far as insite on the game of hockey and the Flyers on this site and philly.com before this....it be wise to show a little respect rookie... You tell jammer to remove his balls from the vice why don't you do the same your the one who flew off at the handle about the Richards trade...

I do not trade Emery, the trade would half to be substantial for me to accept it if I were the GM. It is never a bad thing to have two good net minders. God forbid Mason gets hurt we have Emery who is a capable #1 and would help the team stay competitive and has playoff experience. Who would we have as a back up to Mason or Emery if one of them went down. If anyone is going to trade one of there goaltenders its the Ducks and it probably would happen around the trade deadline.

We also played back to back games, from Ottawa to Pittsburgh people forget that...Pittsburgh rusty right that's ok though... I like what I saw last night yes I agree the Flyers did not play great they got away with some miss shots by the Pens but Emery was fantastic starting mid way through the first and on. I noticed the Flyers had there sticks on the ice at all time stripping players, intercepting the puck and deflecting shots with there sticks. Have not seen that from them this year. I think the most improved Flyer these past few games is Simmonds. He is sitting in front of the net disrupting the goalie, making some nice passes. He looks more uniform out there not all over the place and sloppy like he has been. Been trying to do to much and now it looks like he is settling down. That Schenn, Vinny, Simmonds line is looking pretty good. I just wish I would see the Flyers start taking some shots when upon entering the zone if the pass isn't there or a decent shot does not present itself just throw it on net low on the pads for a rebound goal. I saw a few times were they could of done that and they look to pass or rip it high... All in all I am liking what I am seeing, baby steps finish to road trip strong, from what I understand we have trouble with the Jets, will be a good test also.

The Oilers just traded Dman Smid to Calgary for a couple of prospects plus the "acquisition" of Bryz seems like there getting ready for something...

Was that a funny beings the team is called the Dallas "Stars" and Bryz wants to be a space man. You think Bryz went to see the movie Gravity? I bet he wants to be George Clooney SO BAD right now.

This team needs to rid itself of the coaching staff and its GM. This coaching staff is still the same thing minus Lavy so how could it get any better. Put Hextall in as a new GM and get a new coaching staff...Need more X's and O's coach. All do respect for Lappy and Chief but what could they possibly teach on how to counter teams playing style or create a style of there own. They can show you how to fight and skate hard but I do not see them actually being coaches but just drill Sergeants... I think Giroux was probably saying to Ed is our coaching sucks...Plus the players are probably afraid of being traded for playing poorly or playing great! That has to play on the mind heavily also. When the fish stinks it stinks from the head...unfortunately we can't get rid of Ed so we need a new GM to have the balls to tell ED to stfu and a new coaching staff that actually knows how to coach!
