  1. We have to happy here. It couldn't have gone much better. Even stevens, a one goal game. VGK much slower towards the end. If only Brodin hadn't been squished to the boards.
  2. Reaves and McNabb might also be back. Along with the possibility of Foligno out, that sounds bad. We have not played well without Foligno.
  3. I like the Canes, but I don't see them capable of winning yet. Aho, Necas, Svechnikov are too inexperienced. Teravainen has won the Cup with the Hawks, but he was a rookie carried by an extremely seasoned team back then. I would also expect the Bolts being capable of showing weaknesses in Nedjelkovich. I hope for a big surprise, though!
  4. Thanks for the pre-gamer. That Regan clip was funny. Watching the Wild sometimes makes me forget that obvious fact that hockey is a game. They play. Playing is supposed to be fun. Let's have a fun game, and hope for Fiala and Kap find some fun to their playing as well, so we get the goals, and Foligno and Greenway have some fun as well, so we get to see the hits necessary to win
  5. The Canes have quite a dragon slaying job ahead of them. Hurricanes and Lighting. Hopefully an even, and stormy series. We'll see.
  6. So CAR wins. That Granlund is such an unlucky player. Has a huge game in the last one, a goal and an assist, keeps Aho off from dominating the game, and then what happens in OT...He loses the faceoff, and loses coverage on Aho, who deflects the winning OT goal.
  7. The Wild's best bouts are by Boogard, but this (albeit from the North Stars days) is the more entertaining one, involving two teams, linesmen, police and the camera man. It's also what we want from our team. Every player should be able to stand up for himself or a linemate, if need be.
  8. It's looking good. And in this game even players who have been struggling, like Dumba with VGK's forecheck played better. Parise with that billiard pass, and Dumba threw that open ice hit on Tuch and woke the crowd and himself up, followed by a good enough fight. Keep hitting Dumba! That'll make Tuch and Stone a bit more careful, and wouldn't be great to have Dumba make a good open ice hit on MacKinnon in game one against the Avs
  9. That was exactly what happened in the locker room has well: no one cared. A Stevens vs. Suter bout would have been needed to make 'em care. No harm meant, though, CoachX. I'll hop along to the Wild's area...
  10. Smart game, smart pickup by Guerin.
  11. I'm happy you saw the clip, it's quite something. Hopefully it will turn up on YouTube or the Wild's video page. I'll link it here if it turns up somewhere.
  12. Did you happen to see that Ian Cole Mic'd up clip in between the periods? My god that is leadership! "I got it", "look out!", "take him!" "'attaboy!", everything yelled out out loud so that you will hear it, and the opposing team will hear it too. He schools his pair, would it be Soucy or Addison, all the time. He should have a second pay for all the communication, leadership and d-man skills training he does on ice! I can't help thinking about Koivu's silent "leading by example" moping about. Cole is leading by example. You got to keep your team working together and you have to be vocal to do that on ice.
  13. "Hold, yes, it was the dreaded, three-headed fright The fiercest creature for yards around For second after second Robin held his own But the unslot proved too much for the brave knight" Don't worry, though. There's plenty of blue dragon slaying knights left in the playoffs
  14. I'm probably playing with fire with a can of gasoline tied to my back here, but the one thing that pisses me off in Wild history is the fact back in the day when Boudreau managed to talk Stevens in as our assistant coach, our country club atmosphere was so bad that he left after only a year. We really could have used some of Stevens' grit on our back lines. Still would, IMO.
  15. And we won that game series. It's going to a wild game seven. I expect to face VGK at their very best. If, we'll have a tough time. It doesn't easier in the playoffs!
