  1. You told us Fletcher had fixed our D when they acquired DeAngelo and Ristolainen. Pardon us if we think you don't know anything about hockey.
  2. Chicago is not taking Kevin Hayes without serious draft compensation attached to him.
  3. The idea that the Flyers can retain $2.55M for Risto and suddenly he is a hot trade commodity is laughable. Let's put it this way: if Risto was on another team, would you give up a pick to trade for him, even at half his salary (n.b. there are no longer 20th round picks)? If your answer is yes, have you thought about applying for a front office job with the Flyers? They are looking for people just like you.
  4. No, let's talk about it. Having to turn the team around quickly and shortsighted burning cap or assets to do it is a quick summary of the last 20 years of the team. I'm not sure why you want to repeat that process. Let the team crater naturally. Let the bad contracts expire. Acquire assets for the future with the few trade chips you have (Konecny, Provorov, and maybe Hart). That's not tanking, that's being smart.
  5. Buying out Risto means you save cap space in the near term when the team is bad, and have a cap hit in later years when you hope the team is turned around and ready to compete. That make zero sense to me. Risto is actually an asset right now imo - he will make them draft higher than whoever replaces him.
  6. The point is, you trade TK or Hart, you're expecting a lot in return. You trade Hayes, Ristolainen, or DeAngelo, you're giving up a lot to get rid of them.
  7. Getting rid of Hayes, DeAngelo, and Risto is not a rebuild. It's euthanasia. Getting rid of Provorov and Konecny for picks/prospects, that is a rebuild.
  8. This franchise is truly blessed to have such amazing candidates as former players.
  9. They'll take their lumps for a season, but at the first sign of improvement they will jump on the most hyped and overpriced UFA they think will put them over the top.
  10. This has never stopped them. They should have been rebuilding during the Hextall era. They should have been been rebuilding in 21 when they should have realized (at the latest), that the Giroux era was never going to amount to anything. They will find a way to go for it, trust me.
  11. Torts taking on the media and fans. Always the smart play for the coach of a bad team. Consistent with the rest of the organization: always think they are smarter than everyone else. I hope Torts rents and not owns.
  12. Game changing hit up 4-0, major for charging, same old, same old.
  13. My guess is Torts is gone in under two years, followed by Briere in under four. If Jones is smart and throws Briere under the bus, he might get to pick another GM before he gets let go.
  14. OMG, we're yearning for the Zac Rinaldo days. Seriously, seek help.
  15. The idea that Danny Briere is a calculated guy is laughable. He had little man syndrome on the ice. Big bad guy took the puck from me, I gotta let him know by hooking him. The guy was a mercenary. Please.
  16. The ability of this fanbase to just the swallow malignant $hit the org gives them still surprises me. "Of all the candidates that interviewed" is half the problem. They hired a GM with near-zero experience and compounded it by hiring his boss with even less experience. I am extremely excited to watch "Mr. Jones" do his "homework" while on the job. Something is happening, but you don't know what it is, do you, Mr. Jones?
  17. They deserve to watch from home like the rest of us with zero experience.
  18. I tried to tell you, but no, you had to follow "the signs". Do you do tarot readings?
  19. What, be the third best player on every line they were on and take hooking penalties in the offensive zone, respectively?
  20. The Flyers hiring a former Flyer is one of the most predictable developments and all the half-mumbled Danny Briere press conferences wasn't going to change it.
  21. Clarke hates to lose more than any person alive. This actually hurts him as an executive.
