  1. Hm... all I can think of is maybe your graphic card is faulty or your monitor is fried. Loose cables? No idea... sorry
  2. Okay.. so. With Pk trade rumours swirling, I have just thought of a decent trade proposal between these two teams. Marc Denis (yup, the retired goaltender now working with RDS) reported the Habs and Flyers were talking about a potential deal for P.K Subban all weekend. Reportedly, the deal starts off with either Brayden Schenn, once thought to be the NHL's top prospect, or Sean Couturier going to Montreal, while Subban and maybe another defenceman going back to Philly. Tonight, Denis reported this proposal from Philly to Montreal: To Montreal: Brayden Schenn, Andrei Mezaros (sp) and a 2013 1st round pick To Philadelphia: P.K Subban, Raphael Diaz, 2013 3rd round pick Hm. Okay. A lot of you in the game chat didn't like that idea all too much. Some of you asked for a Diaz scouting report, so here it is: Alright now here is the proposal I would send back to Philadelphia from Montreal: To Philadelphia: P.K Subban, Raphael Diaz, 2013 2nd round pick To Montreal: Brayden Schenn, M.A Bourdon, Nick Cousins, 2013 3rd round pick Why YOU'D be smart to accept this: Brayden Schenn would receive top line minutes in Montreal. He would grow to his full potential. But if he remains in Philadelphia, he is behind Briere, Vorachek and give or take Couturier on the depth chart. Bourdon, I think is a defenceman who could grow to be an NHL regular. He isn't Subban but he will replace a spot in the bottom 6. Cousins had his reputation damaged with legal issues a few months back. Great talent but he is going to have to work really hard at cracking an NHL line up. As for Subban. I know a lot of you aren't sold on him. Let me just say, that with age will come maturity. He has the TALENT to be a top 5 defenceman in the league. He has as good of offensive awareness as anyone in the league, past or present. He hits, he fights, sticks up for team mates, he chirps, he (occasionally) plays sound defence and he plays 20 minutes a night. I'll leave you to discuss this in the comments.

  4. The Habs and P.K Subban are SO far apart. Marc Bergevin and owner Geoff Molson were in Toronto last night, meeting with Subban at his home, along with Subban's agent. Apparently, no ground was gained on a new deal. The Habs want 2 years at 3 million (or something similar to the contract of MDZ), and they are using Del Zotto's contract in their negotiations for sure. But, Subban and his camp are seeking 8 years at around 6 million (ala Tyler Myers). Yeah, thanks Darcy Regier. Today, Subban sat down with The Montreal Gazzette: That quote raises a question. Would the Habs dare trade P.k's rights? TSN was showing the Leafs-Pens game last night, and 1st intermission they host a game show called "The Quiz". The contestants (Bob McKenzie, Darren Dreger, Darren Pang and Aaron Ward {yes, that Aaron Ward} ) were asked a simple question: Do you believe the Habs will trade P.k Subban? They're response? Yes. But, who knows? No one knows. Marc Bergevin has never been in this situation before so we will have to wait and see wait happens. Happy Hockey
  5. Speculation is Corey Perry turned down an 8 year extension to stay with his draft team, the Anaheim Ducks. Perry's agent has reportedly let Bob Murray, Ducks' GM, know that the intention is for Perry to test the free agent waters after this season. Perry has been linked to Philly, Pittsburgh, Toronto and Montreal (according to Eklund) as possible trade destinations.
  6. Cole-Desharnais-Pacioretty Gionta-Plekanec-Galchenyuk Gallagher/Moen-Eller-Bourque Prust-White-Armstrong Nokelainen Markov - Emelin Gorges - Diaz Boullion - Kaberle Weber Price Budaj I like the lineup. We will see what they can do tomorrow night against the Leafs. Happy Hockey

  8. Today, Montreal GM Marc Bergevin announced that Scott Gomez had played his last game for the Habs. The newly appointed General Manager say he spoke to Gomez around 7:30 this morning and told him to sit this one out. The remainder of his contract will be bought out this summer, when the Amnesty Buy out clause comes into affect. Where he will not be missed on the ice, he will however be missed in the locker room, where Gomez was a team leader. "Unfortunately, the personal side of the game is really hard when the business side takes over," said captain Brian Gionta of his linemate in both New Jersey and later in Montreal. "We'll do whatever we can to support him. Under the new rules, the Canadiens will still have to pay Gomez his $10 million total salary for the next two seasons, but will save $900,000 in cap space this season (down to $6.457 million) and remove the cap hit entirely in 2013-14. What do I think about it? I think "Hey, we have 900,000 more to offer P.K. But what's the point?" I understand that he needs to be 100% healthy in order to qualify for buyout, but wasn't it just last week that the league AND the players were whining about being broke?! Scott Gomez is going to be paid 10 million bucks to sit at home and do nothing. He is, essentially and hypothetically of course, the next Paris Hilton. Other news from Habs training camp is that Alex Galchenyuk looked great skating with Lars Eller and Brian Gionta. - P.K Subban, who remains a restricted free agent, did not report to training camp today. Bergevin was in Toronto on Saturday to meet with Subban and agent Don Meehan. He hopes to have a contract done soon. - Tomas Plekanec (day to day with a rib injury) and Petteri Nokelainen (back) both sat out today. Mike Commodore (who is signed to a tryout contract) also didn't skate today, as he was undergoing his medical. - Newcomer Brandon Prust was at centre with Travis Moen and Rene Bourque, while Ryan White centred Colby Armstrong and prospect Brendan Gallagher, with Gabriel Dumont slotting in. - Russian defencemen Andrei Markov and Alexei Emelin played together, while Tomas Kaberle was in Subban's place with Josh Gorges. Francis Bouillon was paired with Rafael Diaz and Jarred Tinordi with Yannick Weber. - Carey Price and Peter Budaj are the only goalies in camp. - The team announced it has invited fans to an intrasquad game for free on Thursday night at the Bell Centre. Happy Hockey, Habsguy26
  9. Alex Galchenyuk is coming off a gold medal victory from this past World Juniors with Team U.S.A. He has 62 points (including 27 goals) in 33 games in the OHL with The Sarnia Sting. But, is he good enough to make the Montreal Canadiens? Yes. Should be play for Montreal this season? Yes. Should he spend the season in Montreal? No. While many feel that he would be a perfect fit on the 2nd line with Plekanec and Gionta (me being one of those people) I do not think he should stick around the NHL for the entire season. Why? Why would they keep him? Well, they'll keep him if he has a PPG pace. Personally, I say keep him for the rookie limit and then send him back to Sarnia. Discuss.
  10. ..............................
  11. Why would I be jealous? Lol. You can have that cry baby Crosby. And I can't proved that it was fixed, as I was only kidding and jabbing sides... but hey oh well. Can I remind you of that little deal you made with Vancouver a couple of years ago that involved a guy named Markus Naslund? lol
  12. @Polaris922 Let me remind you of the countless players enshrined in the HOF. Also, let me remind you that EVERY team hits bumps in the road. I do remember your Penguins almost relocating if not for a fixed lottery Not trying to be rude though lol
  13. @jammer2 not trying to be rude just telling it as it is
  14. @jammer2 And? What does that have to do with the Montreal Canadiens? The winningest, proudest, most celebrated franchise in HOCKEY history, who has a great reputation for treating players well??? Players don't have to live in Quebec. As you may or may not know, the city of Ottawa is RIGHT on the border of Ontario and Quebec, and 21.6% of the city is french. Also, I'm sure that in Ottawa, there is just as many Habs fans as there are Sens fans. Have you seen an Sens-Habs game in Ottawa? There is just as many -- if not more, Habs fans in attendance. Plus, obviously, Ottawa is not the only place a Montreal Canadian who is scared of a little taxes (may I remind you these are multi-millionaires we are talking about here) to live. Tomas Kaberle still lives in Toronto for christ sakes. Gionta, Cole, Pacioretty, (all American) now call Montreal home. Mike Cammalleri said Montreal is the best place to play AND live (even after he was traded). May I also remind you that Montreal is historic, beautiful and the people are friendly. Also can't forget to mention the beautiful women and rocking night life. Zing.
  15. @jammer2 A lot of NHL organizations are like that
  16. Yeah I am not completely sold on him either, but he has the potential to be a STUD! I said I'd offer him 3 years at 3.5 What makes you think one the said players would automatically resign with the Flyers immediately? A lot of RFA's hold out until they can get the best offer possible
  17. Yeah that was my point exactly! If the Flyer's offer sheet another stud d man, the whole league would be gunning for their players who are RFA's.
  18. Not saying he wouldn't make for a good forward, he'd be very Dustin Bfuglien circa 2010 (sp) - esque. But I think his skills would better translate into a top pairing, PP QB'ing, in your face defender.
  19. He is already an RFA, he is not under contract to any team at the current moment, however Montreal owns his rights. I don't think there is a possibility of an offer sheet coming his way. Too many politics/repercussions that would come back with Subban. Could you imagine how pissed everyone would be if Philly offered him one? Offer sheets would flood the Flyer's player's mailboxes! Hm... I don't see that either. Subban works well as a dman. Last season he had quality minutes on one of the top penalty kills in the league and he had decent minutes on the power play. He has a booming shot and is a good body checker, he also has a good stick. Sometimes, he can be caught out of position resulting in odd man rushes, but with some good coaching, that can be fixed.
  20. Now that there is a new CBA in place, Marc Bergevin can finally get to work on resigning one of the league's brightest young defencemen. Let me remind you that Subban is eligible for an 8 year contract (new CBA allows 7 year deal for free agents and an 8 year deal for a free agent whose rights you already own). My opinion is, sign the man for 3 years at around 3.5 and see where it goes from there. In the 2013-2014 season, the amnesty buyout clause (also part of the new 10 year CBA agreed upon early this morning by the NHL and the NHLPA) will take affect which will allow teams to buy out 2 players per year without a remaining salary cap hit. This would give Montreal, who already has 60.3 M in salary used, to buy out some players to free up space (erhm Gomez and Kaberle/Bourque anybody?) Subban has the potential to be a top 5 defenceman in the league. All he needs is a bit of maturity, which will come with age. Discuss.
  21. Great read, welcome to the board. I have a younger brother who is autistic, he doesn't like hockey as much as your son, but trust me, I know that when an autistic person likes something.. they REALLY like something. Hopefully this lock out ends soon and you guys can spend some more quality time together. Welcome, again.
