  1. They've been losing both ends of this EDM-CAL double header since the early 80s.....or at least that's how I remember it
  2. With the inconsistent efforts this schizophrenic team has been putting out since the holidays, the only thing that excites me about this game is that it's another late EST start, which allows me to actually watch a game in relative peace since the kids will be in bed! Ok I'm being facetious, but really another second period period belly up like Thursday is unacceptable. Will be interesting to see if we can actually get 60 minutes out of these guys, it's late February time to show some cajones.
  3. I hate the Rangers more than words could possibly convey. And their owner needs to shut his yap. But the Rangers are going to win the Cup, and I'm going to vomit every morning as soon as I wake up and remember it all summer long
  4. You're right. 25+ years later I actually still think about the Hall of Fame calibre career that might have been. Sad waste of a young life. RIP
  5. Horrible that Florida will get a three seed with a point total that could forseeably end up ranking lower than 8th in the conference.
  6. I cried when Pelle died, and I was 18. I care too much
  7. Patrick Norris Smythe Adams I wish we could go back......
  8. "...what's the most negative place" Yeah, that would be my house......
  9. None whatsoever. Guy has a nine year contract and plays like a shrinking violet. I want to like Bryz but he makes it nearly impossible
  10. I'm not a booer, but JVR will hear me loud and clear next home game. He says those guys back there are working hard....guess who else works hard you snot nosed punk? The people "up there" that pay to see to see you have a losing home record (OTL is still a loss in my book). Don't want to hear booing? Stop playing like crap. Or go play in Columbus where nobody cares enough to boo, and take Bryz with you, you can all keep Carter company.

Hey blocker, it's always nice when a wise guy ends up looking a fool.....and your friend's comment was perfect!
  12. My opinion of the fans' relationship with the teams and the players? We like no-talent players that bust it on every play better than we like talented philosophers that shrink in the spotlight and ***** about being blamed for their small play. Screw the "lost in translation" crap, this guy is a gutless flake. Did JVR really say the fans need to keep quiet??? Screw him too, $160 a pop downstairs and he wants people to clap like trained seals. He could have said the same thing in a less offensive manner ala Giroux's comments, instead he comes off like a snotnosed clueless punk. I personally have only booed the home team literally two or three times over the course of hundreds of sporting events in Philly, but I don't begrudge my fellow fans' letting a guy know he's playing like a dog. EDIT: Yo, when did the automatic censorship fairy arrive at hockeyblogs??? I really wouldn't expect words you can hear on daytime tv get the asterisk treatment, come on!
  13. This is hearsay posted on a blog, and as we all know blogs are like a**holes..... That said, I do not think Bryz has what it takes to play here, or Toronto or Montreal et al. Thin skin for a hockey player
  14. Taking the unusual step of checking in from the game to ask......does this look as bad on tv as it does from here?
  15. @KingSkaggz24 Dude, I'd trade you straight up Briere for the broad in your avatar, provided I can finally talk my wife into that threesome.....
  16. I like 2-1 hockey games. I say if you don't like the trap, find a way to beat it. And I don't think you're seeing a return to the clutch and grab era
  17. Roo reminds me of #16 more every time he steps on the ice.....but this is the first time I've ever said (typed) it out loud, only now because Ed said it first
  18. Giroux's new concussion-reducing helmet by Bauer, we welcome you
  19. I read Thomas' statement, and I completely agree with his view of overreaching government. Also he properly noted that this state has been willingly brought on by the actions of both Republicans AND Democrats. But go to the White House dude, not cool to draw attention to yourself when your TEAM is being honored.
  20. I think alot of the reason for Joe coaching so long was he saw his own mortality in Bear Bryant, who died less than a month after "retiring" from Alabama. I sadly said when they fired Joe that he'd be gone in a year, that was before they went public with the cancer. Despite his shortcomings in the sex abuse case and what he should have done about it, he didn't deserve death. Stunning that it ends this way for Joe.
  21. They mighta slapped the Wings around, but Hell even a broken clock is right twice a day. This Isles team is not good. Franchise hasn't been relevant for 15 years, still fighting off the stench of the Milbury years. Visitors win big tonight.....this one will be over early
  22. @Dynamo 47 Boy we've been talking about Weber for a long time, we can only hope Nashville is sufficiently out of the playoff picture come the trade deadline.....we have an embarrassment of riches when it comes to young talent, something that doesn't happen too often (ever?) in Flyerdom, you can pull the trigger without selling out the future. I am sure they could ink Weber long term as well
  23. No doubt this is Homer telling him to shut his piehole. Dude's a flake and I believe he is having serious problems handling the media here and the increased spotlight....none of which I would care about if he was stopping the puck
