Ersson isn't going to like his save percentage, but it's not all on him. Outside of the Sprong goal, which was a very pretty play on the part of Detroit where nothing could really be done, the Flyers defensive coverage has been very lackadaisical.
The shots are 32-12 right now in the 3rd period. Saros or no Saros. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see, that the Flyers should be winning this game.
Michkov can't get on the ice for the Flyers, fast enough, for my liking. He's a total game changer, and has a ton of tools. Most of all, he can put the puck in the net.
Nice comeback by the Flyers, to tie it. They didn't hang their heads, after being down 3-1, with so many shots on goal. Good effort by the team, especially in the last five minutes..and excellent goaltending by Hart to keep the team in it. Finish the job in OT, Flyguys.
They definitely were, IMHO. For as much as I blame Clarke and Co., for not surrounding Lindros with enough pieces to win a Stanley Cup, I blame Eric himself and anyone going back to his youth hockey days not insisting, that he skate more with his head up. That was always major concern of mine with Big E.
Get a goalie better than any of the average at best ones that we had (not that hard to do had Clarke done his due diligence to find one or trade for one), and one more goal scorer on the second line, then they win a Cup with Lindros.. in 2000.
They shouldn't trade Hart, unless they get a star in return. By recent Flyer logic, this whole thing...unless Carter Hart has actually asked for a trade, can only mean one thing: They're going to trade Samuel Ersson.
