  1. Leighton might have something to prove ..no ? What pisses me off is that Lavi won a cup riding the hot goalie (not his first choice) and came close to another one doing the same thing with Boosh and Leighton. But for some reason he's doing the opposite in Philly since we got Bryz. Bryz should have been pulled in game 2 and Bob should have started game 3. I'm pretty sure the orders to play Bryz are coming from above. If he is injured it should free Lavi up to do what he does best...ride the hot goalie (Leighton/Bob) and call momentum changing timeouts.
  2. What about Bryzgolfov have you seen in this series to say he's better than Leighton ? Leighton played pretty well during our run up until the finals.
  3. I know it's a popular thing to trash the guy. However, He was a big reason we made it to the finals to begin with. Sure I'd like that last one back in game 6, but that happens. Bryz and Bob are disasters right now and I have no problem with throwing Leighton out there one last time with something to prove. Thoughts?
  4. I'm pretty sure all it takes is a full can of Aqua Net.
  5. This is just two similar teams playing their game without making adjustments. We can beat Pitt with this 'run and gun' system, because they play it as well. On the other hand, the Rangers and Bruins are just not a good matchup for us because Lavi will not adjust to the opposition.
  6. @OH1FyersFan Bylsma is good at looking composed and confident when winning...but he looked completely lost in post game interviews in a way that I have never seen before. John Stevens on the other hand always looked lost to me even when we were winning.
  7. I see a perplexed Bylsma, a stick with a white towel hanging low, a tattered sign, and a Penguins 'Jagr' jersey heading for the exit. Priceless !!
  8. Kimmo looks in prime 'playoff mode', I agree. He'll probably be looking like that by the 3rd period in Game 1 vs. the Pens.
  9. Here are the potential candidates for this years deep run in the playoff beard dept. "The Flyers lost a great beard when they lost Ville Leino to free agency. With the addition of Talbot, the team adds an even better beard to the lineup for the playoffs this season. " ~Scott Hartnell ~Maxime Talbot ~Jakub Voracek ~Daniel Briere (Zorro) ~Claude Giroux ~Jags ~Kimmo Timonen
  10. @Cheesesteak Sometimes I think the Flyers don't 'show up', but really when you think about it ..when 2 teams play each other one team will play better, so is there ever a case where we 'show up' but get beat by the better team ? what if we don't show up and the other team doesn't show up ? what if both teams show up ? What if one team shows up in the first period and then the other team shows up even more 7 minutes into the 2nd period ? Maybe it's the fact fact that the Flyers play in front a bunch of wealthy stiffs at home and it's hard to get exited for anything because everyone is too busy looking at their cell phone, stuffing chicken fingers and pretzels in their face, or wiping up their kids ice cream cone that just spilled all over everything. Just a theory... My point is it's not realistically for any team to show up 60 minutes of every single game every single night.
  11. That makes sense because when he said it Kubina made a pass to Jagr ....then I hear 'Flyers need more Euros"....
  12. Did anyone hear the one announcer say something along the lines of " The Flyers are not really that great this year, i think they need more Europeans on the roster"...I know someone else had to hear that....
  13. At one point in life the last image I thought I'd ever see is Lindros and Jagr wearing Flyers jerseys shooting the breeze. Imagine Lindros and Jagr in their prime on the same line ..... Wow.
  14. @doom88 JVR will most likely not be playing in the 1st round so Rinaldo will get a spot...I hope.
  15. I was nicknamed 'The Finisher' for my uncanny ability to bang home loose pucks around the net during the 87' 88' season of my middle school floor hockey league. Unfortunately that was the only highlight of my illustrious hockey career.
  16. I'm feeling pretty comfortable with Manning back there. Actually, any D-man that plays in his position without cycling in the offensive zone and grinding behind the net (out of position) is a plus. Anyone else notice the coincidence of adding positionally sound defensemen and our improvement overall ?
  17. I have to laugh because when I used to live back east my record at the Meadowlands was 0-10. There was one game where I gave my tickets away and the Flyers broke the trap managed a 2-1 win. And is it me or does Patrick Elias score 90% of his goals against the Flyers ?
  18. http://www.flyersfancentral.com/2012/03/brandon-manning-comments-march-8/ Seems like a pretty down to earth kid. Love the part about how he chose the Flyers over the Rangers.
  19. I'm checking the boxscore and see this name that I have never heard of. Who the heck is B Manning ? playing defense.
  20. Ilya Bryzgalov, 'We Welcome You'...you are not alone in the universe. -your friends from 'Andromeda III' galaxy.
  21. Maybe it's me, but why does it seem like EVERY goalie plays better when they face more shots? Could it be that Lavi's 'puck control' style prevents Bryz from staying sharp ?
  22. That is 68 losses too many.
  23. --But Lavi only knows 'one way' according to everyone. Lavi's style is to unleash everyone in the offensive zone, and in his mind the more time we spend trying to score the less time the opposition has the puck. However that only works against the Carolinas, Islanders, Toronto's of this league...then we come up against a hot goalie or a well coached team like the Rangers and we're toast. Oh well, at least we can score goals..who really cares if we win.
