I think they're a good team, but reallllly think that Adam Foote did long term harm to the middle of the roster with the Pierre-Luc Dubois trade and sign. I thought and think that it was indescribably bad. When Montreal backs out of a bidding war for a Quebec-born player, you know you've gone too far.

In the end the Kings were bidding against themselves. Montreal was out, it took another week and rumors getting bigger and bigger and for once the rumors were true.

  2. Hated signing Talbot, just too damn old. Copley was a one year fluke nothing more. Now they are relying on Ritrich? Eeech.

I like the team flaws and all. Still believe they turn it around and should make the playoffs but man they need a goalie.

    I may lean to differ....

Kuzmenk had a solid season last year, but is somehow in tocchet's doghouse,  Hunter B is having a monster year in the OHL is the flames defense prospect pool is suspect. Jurmo is 6'4 and has wheels, plues another first round pick.

And if i am not mistaken, isn't lindholm a UFA at the end of the year, might not even stay in nuckland.

I don't know man, I am simply not a fan of either prospect, kuzmenko can score and has term which is good and adding a first.

Lindholm is an UFA and Vancouver will likely not be able to afford him. If the Canucks bomb and lose in the first round and lose Lindholm as a free agent, Calgary wins. If Vancouver has a deep or very deep run, western finals or scf the Canucks win. And while unlikely they may be able to sign Lindholm.

So a lot up in the air. All things being equal I would much rather have Lindholm.

  4. Wow a lot to unpack.

CALGARY added a decent but ridiculously soft top six scorer, kinda reminds me of Nyquist, 30 goals, 60 points, kind of a very lite version of Gaudreau. The prospects are meh, but a first is good, a fourth just another lottery ball. I know Boston and others wanted Lindholm, getting what they got has to be a win for the Flames.

VANCOUVER gave up a winger who does not play defense and a first for a fantastic center. Lindholm makes the top six better the second power play look better than some teams first. I  believe both teams did great but Vancouver simply won this deal.

  5. Look, I am not going to talk about the boys club in hockey compared to other sports but we have looked the other way for so damn long for so many things. Here in Lexington Ohio we have a player who is one hell of a football player but has two known accidents but continues to play...

My personal opinion is if found not guilty then they are indeed not guilty . If convicted or take a plea the suspension should be massive.

But then I think of deshaun Watson

And realize that's not how life works.

  6. Surprised by this. Lambert was considered THE top hot young coaching prospect, Lou used him for a few minutes, tarnished his rep, let Trotz go and now has...... Roy. You know, the guy who literally quite on Colorado leaving them in a lurch as the season was starting.

They were made for each other. Not a compliment.

  7. I am in three fantasy leagues with most of these guys, I traded for Skinner in every single league about game ten for around fifty cents on the dollar. Edmonton always starts slow than catches fire. From a fantasy standpoint I love Skinner and it will get better. Ek'/ nurse/bouchard are damn good quality if someone wakes Holland up another will be added. I picked them to win the championship my mind has not been changed.

  8. Moving on from Cutter....

Drysdale is a top flight quality defender, first pair shut down guy, QB on the second power play. Honestly he was in the Calder convo his rookie year of a solid class. A few years are burned but the kid can flat out play. This is not a vet playing Torts system, this is a kid with tons of talent. A few years burned in Anaheim which sucks but seriously, the kid can play. Not a big kid but quick, instinctive, the offense will probably end up around 45-50 points as a peak. Health is a huge asterisk but use your eyes. The Flyers are better right now with him in the lineup.

  9. Love it. This dysfunctional foreign legion of an F troop is just a hot mess. At least the AHL coach will miss Tyson Jost.

     Recent moves

Jost cleared waivers and was shipped.

Tage Thompson activated, healthy ready to rock than set for personal reasons.

Defenseman Ryan Johnson shipped to minors Friday at 11am, recalled four hours later

     The coaching fiasco.

God I am glad none of this anywhere near Detroit

  10. Wings fan coming in peace lol.

Lots and lots to like, although the Wings are banged up and on a skid right now. Husso out, Klostin on IR. Maatta game time decision.  Still, Kane on fire, Debrincat looks so very happy. Larkin a dynamic two way center.

The wings lost quite a few games against mediocre teams lately, I think that of all the teams in desperate need of four days off it is Detroit. 5-3 Wings, Edvinsson with the Gwg on the second power play

10:14 last night and 9:46 tonight.  I only saw chunks of the 3rd periods and without sound, so I don’t have a good grasp on how involved he got in play.  I need to watch extended highlights with sound.

I was there!! First time watching Ovie in person. He set Mantha up on his first goal, then took his sweet time with the winner. Lazy, he hung around the blueline but when he needed to bang he did. Jensen looked really, really good, his confidence is through the roof. Nobody got a good shot past him all night.

  12.    Nolan Patrick announced his retirement today from the NHL. He is 25.

He was the second pick in the draft behind Nico Hischier, the next three picks after Patrick were Heiskanen, Makar and Elias Peterson.  Patrick saw his career derailed by migraines.

      32 goals, 77 points in 222 games. That's it.

  13.   The Chief is dead

After yet another killer loss Doug Armstrong fired Berube. AHL coach Drew Banister takes on the interm coaching gig

Berube took over and won the cup with the blues but over four years Taresenko, pietrangelo and others moved on while Armstrong tried to bring lightning in a bottle with poor results, vrana on waivers, krug wants dealt, half a dozen baffled adds that went nowhere.

Berube tried to make gnat sh1t outta pepper. He deserves better
