  1. @jammer2- I'm stealing this line; Even Ray Charles can see Coot's offensive potential!"
  2. Cooter showed a ton last season and will only grow. Tough to evaluate Schenn because he was hurt so much. I agree they don't trade him after bringing big brother in. Homer needs to stay away from this and focus on the back end!
  3. According to Tim P "What is holding up a deal is CBJ want top assets and Flyers wont agree to Schenn and Couturier. L Schenn deal last week a factor here" Coots needs to be off limits IMHO, plus Nash is not going to keep the puck out of the net. I really hope he is reporting BS http://t.co/bE1eTXNx
  4. wish we could have gotten him earlier in his career, the guy is the definition of WARRIOR.
  5. Howie, I hope all is well! I saw Garrison play in the AHL here in Rochester before getting a FT shot with Florida. He has a huge shot, but the knock on him is that he plays to the level of his defensive partner. When paired with an offensive D-man like Brian Campbell, Garrison had a breakout year offensively. Cheap option, maybe paired with Kimmo??
  6. I agree with both of you! Just posted it becasue there was a lot of sentiment on this board regarding bringing him back via trade to play 10-15 games next season (family still in area, close with Homer, Good lockerroom guy like Jody Shelly )
  7. recently injured his shoulder, expected to be out until Nov/Dec. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=399440
  8. Won't Leighton will become a UFA as of July 1st? Would he take less money them the previous contract he got after the cup finals?
  9. Sorry MD, hope you had some "Bounty-The quicker picker upper" near by. Glad you enjoyed it. nothing like a solid laugh to start the day - Sami
  10. LOL! C'mon Rod, A). We can't part with Shelley because "He is a good lockerroom guy" and we all know how much the Flyers brass values that attribrute. B. I heard that Matt Walker just bought a lovely farm house in Adirondack and is so happy there that he would refuse to report to another NHL/AHL team if he were traded. C). Lilja went the opposite route of Giroux and told Lavi, "I don't know who you are planning to start tonight, planning to make a healthy scratch tonight, but it better be me." Lilja really has come to enjoy those pressbox conversations over popcorn with Bob Clarke.
  11. Did Homer really say that during his presser last night at the draft? Hopefully he was being sarcastic.................
  12. when he was sent packing to Columbus? Bob, "I'm in shock, I expected to be a Flyer for life." "I am too distraught to report to Columbus, their Coach and GM will have to come to the shore and talk me into playing there." "If I only had a drinking buddy that I could cry my way into forcing a trade out of Columbus for"
  13. 2013 Cup Winners Penguins early favorites This pole was brought to you by; Gary Bettman, Pierre McGuire, Ed Olyck, Doc Emerick, Paul Steigerwald and Bob Errey!
  14. Watching John Stevens eat cake out of the cup this summer will help the Flyers "stay hungry"
  15. Nice tweet Lupes, you pothead. You weren't dissing Philly fans when they were supporting you while you dealt with that blood infection that almost killed you. Maybe you can cry your way to LA too.
  16. That will be sent to Homer and Clarke as a Christmas cardnext year now doubt.
  17. I wonder how many of those "Devils Fans" are attending their first game ever? I am used to seeing 5,000 people pack the rock, lots of bandwagoners tonight.
  18. If the Kings put themselves in a position for a sweep, I say they should dress Gagne and let him sit on the bench.
  19. Does Gagne need to play at least one game in the playoff to get his name on the cup?
  20. Any predictions on their next head coach? Does Riley Cote get promoted? My guess is the next coach of the Phantoms will be.............Jody Shelley! Jody was a good lockerroom guy just like Cote and that got him an immediate coaching job, so why not Shelley. (Responses as sarcastic as this original post are greatly appreciated)
  21. @Orange-I was suggesting that maybe Burke could get through to our head case of a goalie like he did in Phoenix or help keep him line and focused. Kinda like Phil Jackson did for Rodman back with the Bulls.
  22. I realize that the system used by Dave Tippet and Lavi are quite different. That being said, Sean Burke has done a great job with Mike Smith this year (the guy was in the AHL a good portion of last season) and had success being the goalie coach for Bryz in the past. If the Yotes should win the cup, I wonder if we could bring in Burke as the goalie coach next season? Jeff Reese did not seemed to help either Bryz or Bob with rebound control, angles etc. Maybe Burke knows how to get through to Mr. Universe?
