Thought this was an interesting stat:
Henrik Lundqvist and Steve Mason each played four games on zero days rest this season. Mason 4-0-0 .908 Lundqvist 1-3-0 .879
LET'S GO FLYERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice quote by Mason due to the circumstances but what REALLY concerns me, scares me, call it what you will....
He isn't even dressing and we've got Cal Heeter backing up Emery.
I'd feel much better if he was at least dressing.

Question answered:
Mason announces he is out. Ray Emery will start in Game 3 on Tuesday with Cal Heeter as back up. #Flyers

Welcome!
My 'unbiased' opinion is the Philadelphia Flyers. They have a rich history which would be fun for you to learn about and give you a great sense of the team. They are a team that everyone (other than Flyers fans) love to hate and they are great fun to watch. They have some very talented players on the team and quite a few new up-and-comers that could very well set them up for a very bright future. They are a team which is usually in contention, being in the playoffs more often than not.
Plus we have a great group of fans on this board that are very knowledgeable, passionate and just fun to chat with or read. I get a lot of my humor from the board.
Welcome again and whomever you pick, it's great to have you.

Damn!
Thanks for the info Bre, as you can see I'm trying to find the positives. Although I do believe Emery can hold his own, I get a little nervous if it is more than a few games, much less a few series.

Question for anyone....
Has King Henry ever had a playoff appearance and did he do well?
Maybe we have another MAF as far as playoffs go.....
Grasping at straws????
Maybe

Not according to this....

I say bring him back (for less money of course)!
He is part of the fabric of this team and we need his leadership, etc. I also think it would be good for the rookies (if they make it up), to have his veteran presence around.

Thanks for that JS. It's reassuring.
In terms of getting his degree, sure, it's important, especially if it's important to him (and not just his mother). But getting a degree is for people who want certain careers and opportunities it can offer. An NHL career requires no such degree.
I agree with you on this, but maybe we can send him to night school and summer school in the off season Best of both worlds...
Can't blame him for wanting to have the degree (anybody know what his major is)?
-
Yeah, I saw that. Interesting comment and I too was wondering what he meant by that. It would be a real shame (and disappointment) if it did mean he didn't want to sign in Philly. I was getting seriously pumped after hearing all the good things about him.
OTOH - we certainly don't want someone who doesn't want to play here.
It'll be interesting to see if there is any new follow-up to this story.......
-
Hopefully we recover soon, like tomorrow!!
Can't afford to waste points now.......
-
How about now???
Wouldn't that be sweet!!!
I'd say 2 years if Homer keeps the team moving in the proper direction.
I think Berube and "G" are doing a great job with them and when we get a few new defencemen going, watch out!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
interesting factoid....did not know that....
But love the fact that 'The Fog' finally got his due!!!!!!!!!

So did you win all three games with that goalie line-up? If you did, call it in....we need all the help we can get
-
He was just inducted into the HHOF in 2013 so that is probably what prompted it to happen now, but he is a legend to any old time Flyers fan......
-
Have a great time tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was at the game on Saturday and a great time was had by all.....expect the Pens fans that were there.....
Enjoy and GO FLYERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was a great game today. The place was rocking nicely.
And it was pretty funny when Crosby was on his @$$ with his hands up in the air with the 'what not call' BS.
GOD I HATE THAT TEAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, if we do split, I hope we win at home since I'll be there....
I hate to see them lose, but even more so live......

Welcome, it's nice to see a Lightning fan's take on the situation and I do agree with you and think that Tampa will win out on this one. Although he is still a good player, that probably won't last to much longer (jagr aside).
Good luck down the stretch!!!

Congratulations on your Jagr signing!
He is an amazing player and shows no sign of letting up anytime soon.
I think one of the Flyers bigger mistakes recently was in letting him go.....
